There is no silver gear for me on the table in the secret library. I did start a new game and ran there again, no gear. Normal diff.

On Normal, it's in the living quarters, near the corpse in the TV room.

Thanks Zoro, the log about the location of the silver cog is indeed incorrect on EZ PZ difficulty. I had not found the silver cog yet and then ended up looking in the wrong room because I had read that log. Finished on EZ PZ in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Got 33 of 39 rings and 2 of 7 secrets.

The Diego FM headquarters was much larger than I had expected. The gimmick with the voice and texture replacement for all AI was elaborate and impressively detailed. While I didn't particularly enjoy the style of this fighting FM, I respect the amount of effort that went into it.

It wasn't exactly incorrect. It was that the silver cog was taken from the secret room already.

While it is possible within the story of the mission that the silver cog was removed from the secret room after the log was written, players will still assume it is in the secret room because it is usually not the purpose of logs in the game to point them in the entirely wrong direction.

Sorry for digging this one up, but had anyone actually found the secret switch for the door in the violet admin boss room, relatively late in this mission?
A major hint would be welcome.

At times I think I resorted to using the (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PH2VbW50DNFVXo6Z0NBvEDdjo6n6j8t-/view?usp=sharing) walkthrough when I played. Not sure if that helps. :)
