T2 FM, THORK Oct. 15/07 - by Ricebug

Gloria: probably it works different for you... maybe Ricebug can help...
Silent_Warrior: imho this FM is relatively easy even on "expert". Simply go wherever you can and you'll find rope arrows. No tough puzzles, no tough situations... only the maze could be a little messy.
In case you are really desperate:
go to the end of mines...
Aspirin, this didn't work for me. :(

Gloria, go into Options, then Controls, and then Customize Controls. Go down the list until you find "Next Weapon" and "Previous Weapon." There you should see what keys to use (or, assign these commands to any keys you like). Mine personally were set to "Keypad_plus" and "Keypad_minus."

on the contrary, I found that most of the enemies were way overpowered, like they had 10 times the hit points or something. The puzzles don't make any sense, the layout is crazy with bad design decisions and rough amateur construction all over the place, and some of the more frustating situations made me almost delete the mission!
That said, I still like it because I'm such a fan of Zork! In fact, some of my complaints also apply to Zork itself in a nostalgic sort of way.

None of the AI except the Thief on the mountain top were modified. They are all part of the standard Dedx gamesys.
There are no puzzles, unless you want to count "find the key." I kept the map as close to the original Zork map as possible, so I can't speak for the "crazy layout."
1 negative comment verses 50 good. Perhaps you should've played on Pussycat difficulty.

I don't know Zork and I regard this FM nice and enjoyable. And no one frustrating situation because if you look everywhere it's easy to progress, so no tough problems to solve... all is visible, no hidden switches, etc...

so the safe at the turbine room needs a key... which I guess will show up eventually?
while there, did everyone else's screen zoom in about 100x when you selected a water arrow?
and is the key to the metal door in the teleport room (in the caves, with the scroll) someplace obvious, or is there a trick to it?

MrMunkeepants: "key" ->
search carefully whole room
Thanks! :) Looks quite nice. Already downloaded it yesterday, but hadn't had time to play it yet.

Wow , it's such a big mission, very complex...
 WHEN DID YOU EAT AND SLEEP IN THE LAST YEAR??????
But it is very interesting, playing now for some hours and have actually the crystal skull. It's hard to say , but I think the end is near... sad, sad , sad .
Until here: the best thing for me was, that I had on starting the game no broadhead arrows and walked at the stones near the waterfall - and there was a knight who was attacking me from the stone across from me :grr: - with ARROWS :sly: ..., heh heh heh. As he throwed some of these, I had enough to make the way free. Good idea!!
The hardest thing, I think , was the purchasing of some rope arrows - finally to get the egg (my next step)
have a nice time (now again with your wife!!!! :cheeky: )
