I appreciate the advice, but it does not work. I still get my savegames labeled as torner, and the objective screen still says torner at the top instead of the mission I am playing. I guess my thief 2 is perminantly messed up, unless i do an uninstall and reinstall which I do not want to do.

This did not happen until I played thork. I am not saying that thork is the problem, but it sure makes you wonder.

Stingm, I know the game Thork isn't the problem.
It happened to me some time ago on another mission.

What I did: I used my defragmentation programm ánd clean up programm on my whole drive (I hope you understand what I mean here:eww: ) closed my computer and started it up again: problem solved!

I know its not thork, just funny that it started on that mission. I played torner a few months ago. No big deal, I can play any mission, it just shows torner as the save and objective title.

I appreciate the defragging suggestion, I plan to do that in a few weeks or so. I wonder if an uninstall and reinstall of thief 2 would work?

Yeah, I guess it will work, but for how long?!
You'll get the "knit" out of the "wire' here first.

Why wait for that moment? .... the defragmentation and not try the other options now!:weird:

I guess it's better to try this first?!??

Can someone please just straightforwardly say where the rope arrows are? Not "just look everywhere and you'll find them!" or "they're somewhere in the mission!" -- please, just come out and say it straight.

In the room beyond the break in the tracks, where I found the safe key, there is a chest; it's unpickable, and I cannot find the key. Can someone help, please?

Thanks. I've been in that room: It's the one with the unopenable chest and the thief who has the Safe Key on his belt. I have looked around that room... unless they're in the unopenable chest -- which I can't open -- I have no idea where they are. If there is a chest key in this room, I have no idea where it is, either.

Can somebody please say straightforwardly -- not just a hint -- where the rope arrows are? Please?

Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. For benefit of future travelers... the key is in an earlier room in the mines, with a stationary guard and a workbench with a lump of silver. Over on the nearby desk are a few coins and the chest key. The key opens the chest in Kyle's room; that chest contains three rope arrows.

Edit 2: All right, I finished; just $100 short of the max.
