I have been away from home for quite a while and just returned. I was so happy to find so many new FM's out there and chose to begin Two Fathers first. (It was a painful tossup between this one and Lord Alan's Fortress.) But very early on in the FM I am stuck and have read everything I can find on this but haven't seen a direct answer yet. I am TERRIBLE at underwater stuff, I'll confess that first. I get turned around easily underwater and if there isn't a clear-cut tunnel or waterway to follow, I'm totally lost. So I have gone through the caves, jumped into the pool, and I can't find where I'm supposed to emerge. I will need some specific directional instructions to get through this part. (I'm assuming that I'm in the right place... at least I think I am, according to the posts I've read.) So, if someone could tell me specifically which way to face and approximately how far to go, etc. I would SO appreciate it. BTW, my gamma is all the way up and I still can't find where to go. But this is the only pool I have come across in the caves. And as I said, I might be looking in the wrong place. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to use your flares to find the way through the underwater tunnels. They are dark, but with a flare you should be able to see the openings clearly. Look for a red-lit cave and you'll find the way out the other end. :)
Did you find your equipment, by the way? If not [SPOILER] go back to the area where you entered the caves and check the building with a thief upstairs. There's lots of equipment up there, though I think you have flares in your start inventory, even without this stash. [/SPOILER]

Ah... thanks so much, Nightwalker. You know, so often I have flares in my inventory and never use them. So when I have them and need them, it doesn't occur to me to really break them out and put them to good use. I shall use them now. And yes, I had found the item(s) you mentioned. I would not be heading back to have fun were it not for you. Thanks again!

Nightwalker was quite peristent about the need for flares in that area, so I put some in the start inventory and upstairs in the thieves stash. It's easy for me to get from the start of the missions until I'm out of the caves in the sinkhole in about 6 minutes or less...but that is only because I ran through it every time I built a little farther ahead in Dromed. I must have done it about 50 times by now. I put a red lit barnacle just in front of the tunnel which leads up to the exit to guide the swimmer in the darkness. Once you are out of the water, begin quick saving every time you successfully complete a difficult mantle or jump...you'll curse me less that way. I hope you like the mission, and thanks for playing.:)

Thank you, Uncadonego and Nightwalker for your help. I have exited the water and am now in the purple part of the caves but I have another problem. (I hope I won't be a pest this whole FM. That would inhale vigorously with great force.)
[SPOILER]I have just mantled up about 6 or so levels and killed a spider. But now I am in a place where I see no way out or up. I can't squeeze between two pillars and behind me is where I just came from. Did I miss a level or turn the wrong way or something?[/SPOILER] Anything you would like to advise would be appreciated.

In the caves, for the sake of (hopefully) realism, not everywhere goes where you want. Some of the passages just go back from where you came or give you a view of where you must go, but don't lead there. You are at such a place right now. You can see the central cavern, but can't get to it through the pillars. Go back down a couple of steps, back to the different height columns you mantled. Face where you just killed the spider while standing on one of those columns. Look to your left, and you should see where you must mantle. I hope that helps. If you read this and give it a shot, but my instructions don't help, post again, I'll be up for awhile...I'm going to link some screenshots from the mission to this thread. The old thread is a long way down the pages, and it may give some people a new opportunity to see some screens before they decide to download the mission.

Please help me get out of the caves. I jumped right from the middle column, with the red spot on my left. Mantled up and I'm at the red spot and still can't find the spot I'm suppose to shot a rope arrow into the floor and get out!!! I've started over 3 times and I have to say the lighting is really bad in the caves. I'm using my flares. Did I miss something? Please e-mail a map if there is one.
