I got a reply from a private message. I asked how the walkthrough worked for them, and they said it worked perfectly, and directed them out of the caves without a hitch. Good news, so I hope that anyone who found the caves too difficult might give the mission another try. :D

Excellent work, uncadonego! And you're going to make more? Goosebumps!
Ghost Mode: Success! Others Killed: One, did a spider follow me into the water? Perfect Thief Mode: Incomplete. Shop Supplies: four water arrows. Pockets: twelve of fourteen? Secrets: two of two.
I went up and around the first two- or three-spider bunch but was able to simply creep carefully around the others. I presisted in the watery cave until I was able to get through without injury and without using any flares. Just my frugal way. Once you're oriented to the first opening it's down, up, down, through, up and all in a straight line with no turns. I backtracked to read the note from the kids (Garrett and Delphos?) exploring the caves.
I was particularly impressed by the number and placement of guards and other AI. This seems more like what it may be in reality. But what do I know.
Sure would like to avoid having to spend those water arrows. Can the treasure room key be gotten without? I see two tall pines just north of Delphos' position. Has anyone travelled this route from the roof of Delphos' house? Plus there are those two circular gaps in the wall. I couldn't find any boxes/crates to stack handy. Neither did I have enough potions to stack to crouch into them. Flares, keys? I wonder.
The two purses on the pair of guys at the third house can be gotten without extinguishing the mushroom but the guard needs to be nudged to get close enough.
Thanks again, unca. This is several days of good, solid, Thief gameplay.

when you're done playing it, come back and give your comments on it. I'm trying to assimilate all the input on the mission that I can get for the sequel (not the story, but the game play, lighting, architecture, etc.). As soon as I'm done working on Mixed Messages, I'm going to make a solo again of part 2 for Two Fathers. Likes and dislikes are all welcome, as long as they're not nasty.:)

If you get the chance could you go to The Circle and vote on my mission? There's only five votes on the vine, and I'd like to get a broader sense of how everyone who played it rates it. I'd appreciate it. Thanks!:)

Wow, the caves were amazing!!! Absolutely brilliant. That must have taken hours and hours to even conceptualize. Do you ever sleep anymore?? I don't but if your not either at least your doing something constructive with your time awake.
I actually read every peice of writting I could get my hands on. I love the little message in the caves about Garrett and that other guy going through there. What a laugh. I actually woke Tyler up though.
It was a little easy it seemed though. I didn't need any water arrows, I only used one broadhead and that was to break the glass in the ceiling. The spiders were easy to dispatch with the trusty sword. Was thinking of sneaking by but got impulsive and impatient again and just ran out and slashed them.
I noticed that some people were having trouble with the caves, getting stuck and falling and stuff. I didn't seem to have that problem. Weird huh??? I didn't even have to use the quick save. Although, I was playing on easy. I was missing about 500 loot when I was done. It took me 58 minutes of running, ( Yes I ran the Whole way through it, what can I say, I'm add:)
It was wonderfully developped though. Everything was perfect, from the placement of each light source ot the switches. They were right where I would have put them. I loved reading the letter and stuff. So much to read though. That's what took most of the time. LOL I probably could finished the mission in like 30 minutes if I didn't read any of the books or anything.
Warning, spoiler ahead

The sequel gets started as soon as I'm finished Mixed Messages. If you think I wrote a lot of stuff to read in Two Fathers, wait until you play Karras' Diary!:laff: I hope you like lots of 17th century english!:wot:
P.S. -What's wrong with robbing your brother? Think about your two brothers....don't they have it comin'?:cheeky:
Dude, go to The Circle and search for my mission and vote for it!!! (...and don't give it a 1 just to be an ass......(who? me?):sly: Yes! You!:grr:
