I was reading thru this old thread hoping to find a couple of particulars and saw I had written a message about dl'g and playing due to your screenies (which now you can't see anymore) that urged me to play it. Well as time would have it, I am now finally playing it! LOL Thank goodness for the walkthru thru the caves..I got thru the swim with no problem and found the first spider...I got past it but the darn thing started to try and sneak up behind me..really!!! I had my eyes on a seond on ahead...and when I'd turn around it would dart back behind a rock. Then the same thing would happen...it would come out a bit to move closer, but when I'd turn around again to check...back it would hide again. Now you talk about weird...well that spider just tried one too many times to try and sneak up on a Master...so he bit the dust via one arrow...the next one got my sword when it tried to come up after me..and again the third got an arrow. I digress..the walkthru then was required to find my way out the rest of the way, and I also had many tries to jump the three pillers...the first was fairly difficult..the second not too bad..the third had me wondering...was I ever going to make it? It finally got done and the rest was no problem.
I'm still playing around trying to find more loot just because and the fact that those two keys (kitchen, maid got stuck near stove and created an alert problem for me for a bit) and then the one upstairs I couldn't seem to find till I was going to admit defeat for them and leave...but then on my way down...just entered the bedroom at the foot of the stairs...who comes wandering through but goodole Bro with key... :D Then and only then did I see note on doorway wall...Come back, etc. need to give you something...or whatever, so now I debated if I wanted to make that long climb back up stairs, etc. or just leave? I decided...not sure what might be in store for me when I get back up there but most ppl/guards have been put to sleep for a spell...you know everyone requires a nap now and then...even a Thief, so I went to bed and decided I wanted to check this thread for the above mentioned info I was looking for and did find out about the key for kitchen safe.. that's a nice bonus, also a possibe switch in closet in Dr.'s house? I don't know if that pertains to me since I'm playing this one Easy (as I know your FM's are a little more difficult to play and I wanted to play this one) and I found the objective potion already so don't know if this is an extra to use? Which brings me to a question..since you got ticked for finding it, if you were to use it would that negate the objective being credited? I had to use most of my veggies, cheeses, etc due to a couple of miscalculations. One was in the farthest back area with Greenhouse and an archer...thought I was hidden in a good spot but he found me and I had to deal with him...gave him a couple of good whacks but remembered I couldn't kill anyone :( so while making a mad dash around getting some damage...I finally got a gas arrow out, sighted and fired...gosh was I hungry! LOL
I'll close off this message..with a thank you for this mission and yes, I already have "Time has Passed" ready when I finish this one. The Mansion is just beautifully designed and how large...sooo many rooms, attics, greenhouses, pools in and out..on and on, what a dream house. My lawd what a party we Taffers/Tafferettes could throw in that joint! Ha,ha. So just wanted to also compliment your very first mission after all this time..it surely didn't look or play like one that's for sure. Later Taffer Boy..and Good Hunting!

Thanks Fire Eater,
That mission got a real slow start initially. Only a couple hundred people downloaded it, and I wondered if many people were actually going to ever see it, but finally it started getting played more, and now it has over 1300 downloads.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Well as luck would have it, I got the safe upstairs money alright, but when I went down to try and find the other key..I was unsuccessful, so I finally left and finished the game. In rechecking my note about it's location, I saw that I hadn't actually looked in the proper place for it...I was looking for it to be on the shelf rather than up higher...darn it. :( Oh well, no biggie just sorry I couldn't remember where it said to look at the time. :D
I am playing the other now and am having somewhat of a problem figuring out how I should try and do something...but I'll not address it here of course. I would like to know however, if in fact Chain of Events is a third part to this series or not? Thank you.
uncadonego on 26/3/2007 at 22:01
No, it isn't. In Mixed Messages, there was a hidden message that a small number of people actually decoded, and they ended up as a "gang" of criminals who made it into the Mixed Messages police station and found Truart's secret stash. The gang is all mentioned in Chain of Events, using their TTLG nicknames.

Yes, I did read about the gang names being used in Chain of Events and that you said you couldn't fit the additional areas into Time has Passed so you made it into another Mod. So if I understand this...you actually did not make a third part to the other two games then...is that correct? Thanks again. :)

Nope. Maybe some day, if ever the idea of making another mission doesn't lead to such an instant precipitous mood change....

Damn. :( :( :(
Well, it's good to know you still come around here sometimes anyhow Don. Miss you!
At least you know that when you do decide to create another FM, there'll be positively hordes of us taffers scrabbling to download & play your latest work of art! :cheeky:

I can't believe this mission is three years old already... (I must play it again soon :>)

Thanks Uncadonego for this pretty fine mission. I only got around to it now, all these years after you created it. So it still has life!
By the way, I got a bit confused in the beginning and found myself going into that "town" area adjacent to the thieves' hideout. After knocking every civilian and the lone guard out, I strolled around and found myself at the very edge of the world!
Cheers

That little tiny piece of dirt at the top of that sewer has led more than a few taffers up there in no-man's land. I never thought anyone would ever end up there.:p
