LOOT LIST
is now available on Epithumia's site. Thanks very much Jason.
It is (
http://thiefmissions.com/lootlists/TwoFathers.html) here.
check it out if you're having trouble finding anything.
DreamWalker, :ebil: I realize I made the kitchen safe key a bit difficult to find. It's more or less for people who enjoy hard key searches and get satisfaction when they find it. I was careful to make the game completable without the safe loot, even on expert level. However, if you're tired of looking,
hop on the stand-alone kitchen counter in the middle of the kitchen. Run and jump on the ledge of the fireplace on the double door side. Look at the chimney moulding near the ceiling. It'll hilight right in front of you.
Now go get that loot!!!
There is almost 6400 loot, so don't give up anyone... definitely get the loot list!
Thanks again for the nice words everyone.:)
P.S. For those of you who used a variety of colourful expletives during the swimming or cave exploring areas....the sequel won't have any caves! LOL! So relax!:joke:
There will be some (hopefully) great rope work to do in it though (THAT'S FOR YOU LONZIE BABY!)
P.P.S. I will soon be resurrecting my thread "Questions On FM Preferences", bringing it back up to the top of the page, so it will be a great place to make notes on what you didn't like about this mission and ways of improving the next one (keeping in mind of course that there will be no caves in the next mission :tsktsk: ), and things you would like to see. There will be three sort of distinct sections of town:
The wealthy neighbourhood, the downtown business area, and the poor side of town.
I'll bring it back in a few days, once I'm more sure of where I'm at with MM. I'd appreciate everyone's input.:)

No more caves? But they were so authentic looking! Like it or not, uncadonego, you've set a precedent of what it can actually feel like trying to find your way around in both water & air filled narrow cave passages. Just a little reflection in the first part of the water passage and voila you have perfection. I have a funny feeling other FM creators will be expanding on your ideas here. :thumb: My only request is ... please, please let me have access to air while I'm taking that swim. :cheeky:

I'll agree to that. :thumb: The placement, the concept, the architecture, the implementation of that cave system made me sweat for the first time in a long time. I know I'm having fun in a FM when my palms start sweating and I have to take a brief pause to regain my composure. Jumping and mantling through that cave system was a true thrill, and I can't remember having so much fun since Komag's "The Great Tree". Exhilaration of that caliber is icing on the cake when it comes to Thief FMs, and this one did it for me. It's going to be hard to top this one for technical complexity like that again. But we know you'll give it a good try, right?
Just go easy on Dromed's limits next time, will ya? Don't push it to the edge, then expect it to be kind to ya, OK? It can turn on ya, and it won't be pretty.

Ha!Ha! I'll try my best! I may have to do a "modified" 100% accessibility this time because of the nature of the mission (eg. still accessible, but no transparent windows on the top floor of some buildings, etc.) because of those Dromed limits. I'll try to stay away from that edge Hit. I thought I could tell Dromed what to do, but as soon as you think that, Dromed whips you into submission real fast. It whipped me at least 10 times before I finally relented. This mission actually would have been much more detailed than it is, but DROMED WOULDN'T LET ME!!!:(
Sadder but wiser, I may do better this time.

I understand EXACTLY what you mean! Just when you
think 'this is cool!', you check the framerate and....
disaster...:(

the location of the potion: I had found over 5000 loot, knocked out everyone on the entire level, and taken (and read) every piece of correspondance, but hadn't found it because I didn't hunt every inch of the level (I understand that there was a hint it was in the closet, but I had looked there,
I'm pretty much in the same boat as this fellow was except for one thing. What closet, I'm not even sure where you mean? I'm sure I was in it, but I don't remember where it is and I'm tired of looking for it again. So would someone just please tell me where to find this closet. I thought the closet meant one of the 2 empty small rooms on the top floor of the back hidden mansion, but I can't find any switch in either of them. So I really need to know. Please?
Morrgan on 17/4/2003 at 08:54
The closet
isn't in the hidden mansion, it's in the first one of the three houses you reach when you climb out from the caves. The closet is on the first floor, to the left from the main entrance.
Question:
I am in the dirt cavern with the mound in the middle. I look up and see a grate/gate above me. I can rope arrow up, but not close enough to reach the grate. What to do? Am I in the right place to continue?
Thank you

Try hitting the arrow in the board over to one side a little more (not all the way against the hole's edge though) and see if you can't get Garrett to go up the rope to where he's more in the middle of the hole. Usually that helps a little.
