Originally posted by The Rogue Wolf Well, I "finished" it last night (couldn't fulfill the loot requirement, even with the loot list, and just got sick of trying). It's a pretty good FM, but irritated me a bit too much for me to consider it "great". I do have to give kudos for some of the multiple-button secrets, not to mention
how the status of things would change depending on how much you'd done- the archers on the parapets becoming zombies, and the treebeast appearing in the courtyard.
I've played much worse, though, so I have to give a big :thumb: !
I can understand it being irritating. It was worse before I released it. I had the floor in the pub disappear when the player went around the bar, but I couldn't make it unobvious. :eww: Anyway I don't think it was great either, but at least tried to make it fun. :)

I had some fun with this mission, but there were a few things that really bugged me:
1. I got stuck several times on bad brushes, died of SHAS twice in fact.
2. The button by the statue you have to frob to get the rosary. I found the other buttons easily enough, but that one seemed inordinately difficult to find. It was just barely frobbable for me, I could only get it from a VERY specific angle after going into dromed to find it after searching that room for quite a while.
On the other hand I did like:
The archers becoming zombies, the treebeast appearing in the courtyard, blowing up lots of zombies with all them fire arrows :ebil: , and the roof climbing elements.
All in all it reminded me somewhat of JIS's missions.

Howdy!
Y'know, as nifty as the lava areas, I'm getting awfully tired of falling in and dying. I arrived, ran willy nilly and reached the black shore, losing half my health. Managed (finally!) to leap one of the chasms, where I tried over and over to leap to one of the floating islands where a wizard stood. I kept getting stuck in the texture. So I finally shot him with a broadhead.
Managed (finally!) to leap back towards another wizard and shot him too.
Now I can't manage the leaps in either direction and reloading is getting very old.
Any tricks?
Cheers!

I've just finished your mission after 3 hours on normal, I have to say I had a lot of fun. Well done, John!
I only have 1630 of loot, but I rarely find all the loot in a mission...:D
I have only a question: what was the secret
in the house that can be only accessed by the chimney? I found the button/lever on the window, I heard the "found secret" sound, but I didn't see anything.

Melissa,
If you are stuck in the textures you can do nothing but reload...:(
The only trick I can suggest is to jump and be ready press your "back" key if your jump was too long, so to avoid to slip into the lava.
Good luck! :)

Indeed, the trick in there is to get the hang of the change in gravity. It really threw me at first too.
Melissa on 12/1/2004 at 05:27
Actually, Frobber's latest got me in shape for the low gravityl :) It was the gaps - they were still quite wide.
In terms of getting stuck in textures: FYI for the designer - besides getting stuck in the lava areas when jumping onto any of the platforms, I had a REAL tough time with the East house between the roof and the chimney. I'd climb the stairs carved into the roof and if I wasn't careful, slide down the incline and get stuck between roof and chimney. If I jumped from the top of those "stairs" to the top of the chimney, 9 times out of 10 I'd get stuck in the chimney texture. Whoof! :p
It's still a fun and involving mission though - thank you!
I'm on a loot hunt now - that's all I need to finish. I'm having the same trouble finding the torc as others are. I have 1949 and need 2500 to fulfill the objective. Ugh. The roc would get me well on the way. The ring on a pew in the cathedral is something I missed (not looking forward to going back in there!), and then the loot list mentions another ring "outside window" in "next building". I looked in all the windows from inside and out, and if it's the building I think it is you get there by going into the grocers first, up the ladder and out the window and into the "next building".
Did anyone find that ring? Or the torc, for that matter?
Cheers!

I had doubled back looking for the ring in that house as well. Couldn't find it so I'm thinking I might have grabbed it already.
The torc is in one of the back huts on roof top of the warehouse. Step into the hut doors, turn around and look up.
The only way I'm going to know for sure what I missed is to start the mission over again and write down everything I find.

Nice mission! A great combo of THC and Shipping and Recieving!:) Now all I have to do is finish grabbing loot.
Stingm on 12/1/2004 at 14:30
The ring outside the window took me a while to find but its there.
You have the right building, just the wrong side. Goto the graveyard side and look between the buildings at a basement window..its there! The window goes below ground, so you realy got to look.
Hope this helps.
