Came to this one late... (Playing on expert)
I'm stuck, and I haven't very many things with which to work.
I've been through both entrances to the mansion, but I'm still stuck in the basement (can't get past the bricked-up wall with the thing I can't grab with my bare hands). I found the power-up boulder, but I have nothing to use on it yet (no hook). I made the sausage dish, swapped it with the werewolf for a lever, and used that to get inside the second entrance. I have a cookbook (which I already used), a dead spider, a live but sleeping burrock, a length of yellow wire, a length of red wire, Stobb's diary, an empty bottle, a basement key, and Stobb's key.
I'm just running around like a chicken with its legs cut off. Where should I go now? What should I be looking for?

lol Dafydd. This one had me running around the same way. Then I'd get a little hint and go running around with a purpose - only to use up all those ideas and end up running around clueless again.
To get the
hook, you need to get
into the kitchen (rather, what USED to be the kitchen in the OM). To do that. . .
you have to find the wires and do something to the power supply.All out spoiler:
Find the Red and Yellow wire, put them in the hole on the floor of the electrical room. Then go to the power room (end of the hall) and flip the switch there. The light'll go out and the guy in the kitchen will come storming out and you can snab his key. Once there, you can find the
hook, and hopefully get moving forward again. :)

Playing on normal, have body to hang on hook, where is the hook I need for the second chain? where did I miss the magnetic rock? I can't hang him on the hook that was in the chamber next to the empty chain. Any help appreciated.......... The Geez:confused:

I only played on expert, so the answers might be slightly different. But, as far as I know:
The hook to hang the body is
in the same 'enclosure' with the demon, its hanging from the ceiling. I think its the one closest to the two double-front doors. You can't TAKE that hook, so its there when you're ready. Also, to hang
the body you have to roll through your inventory, to the body item. Not just try to click the 'carry' body you see on the main screen. That bit is a little confusing. You don't always notice the item right off. heh
The magnetic
rock is in the basement in the room near the lab.It looks like a big 'rubble' rock on the floor.Xorak on 23/8/2012 at 22:53

There's
no magnetic rock on normal level. Nor is there a
second hook if you're looking for one.

I'm, Sorry Xorak, but there is:
There are two hooks, where the demon is. The one on the right (looked upon from the ladder you came off) is the one you can take and use on the magnetic rock and than use on the empty brick in the workshop. The other one, on the left is where you "donate" the mage to the demon.

lol, I was thinking when I was responding that I need to write out a walkthrough, because I'm starting to forget the puzzles to my own mission.
But I just checked the mission to make sure, and on normal there is no magnetic hook puzzle. It was one of the last changes made to the mission in the 1.1 version. I don't think you tested that version, because we were mainly working out the game-crashing bugs as well. :thumb:
