Hi Xorak - I love all the little puzzles and scripts in this mission - and the close-quartered claustrophobia, the not-totally-square aspect of it - it's a wonderful mission, even though it does throw me for quite a few loops.
I did find a way upstairs, though it too me several tries and a long period of waiting around before I discovered that the ai would not be coming down from the elevator to investigate. I tried throwing boxes into the elevator, running and jumping on before getting crushed - all manner of stuff before going back through other rooms to look for something I might have missed. I was shocked to see the "investigator" ai coming from another room. disappointed that he had no key, and surprised to discover I didn't need one to get upstairs!
Now I am having a rather serious problem. I finally made the dispel potion, and used it. I have the contents of the magically sealed box. Now the game crashes whenever I try to save it. Any ideas about this?

@redleaf,
Are you sure you are playing the latest version 1.1 (see first page for download link) ?
The earlier version caused crashes to some people, but not on every save.
The AI not coming down after you use the sleeping baby burrick on the elevator and throw the switch for the elevator afterwards sounds suspicious as well.

Really this mission is cursed. I haven't seen any other mission cause such lingering problems. But I'm working on optimizing it in NewDark. And if that still doesn't work, it may require a complete rebuild at some point in the future, starting from scratch. It should only take a couple weeks to copy everything over.
Oh, are there any strange error messages that pop up in the monolog?

I re-opted it and found no problems. Never had any glitches.
If you want a cursed mission, try part 2 of Shadow Plans. It was an abandoned mission, complete with its own gamesys. How convenient. One of these days I'll re-do the gamesys.

Hello, Xorak - no error message at all - only the popup that "Thief2 The Metal Age has encountered a problem and needs to close". One more weird thing, the space where I last tried to create a hard save now says <EMPTY>. I can't quick save, either.
I think I may be playing an older version :grr:
Downloading from Southquarter now, and will start again fresh

Jeepers, this fm is haunted! I threw some things down the chute that I guess is used to feed the wolfman when he's in his cage. Whatever you throw down there, never shows up in the cage below. Is that supposed to happen? Where does it go? :weird:

Hmmmm.... sounds to me like you are just past the sleepwalking guard ?
The 'chute' close by is good for nothing.
I guess no one ever bothered testing what would happen if someone would try to put stuff inside.
But indeed I also wondered why it is there at all, but it seems like I forgot to ask about it while testing.
So, feel free to ignore it. ;)

Stuck again - I got the lights on, but Crust never showed up. He isn't in the room with the power switch or anywhere between that room and the embalming room. So without his key, I can't get past this point?
Gnartsch: yeah, I forgot to mention about the snoring ... I've seen even more ridiculous things than that - wonder if there is a Thief bloopers thread somewhere?
