Nope. I can find no switch behind those bookcases nor anywhere else. The only conclusion I can come to is that there's been some glitch that has removed the switch and I won't be able to finish the game. Alas. . :(

It may also be important to check which versions of the mission both of you have played. My ancient notes about this mission say that there might be some changes in v1.1 concerning some of the puzzles, but that information most likely came from a post here on TTLG.COM, as I have only played through v1.0 so far.
My notes also describe the location of the switch behind some kind of furniture, standing on the right wall when entering the described room. This fits fortuni's description and screenshot. For v1.0, the switch should be where we described it... unless it "moves" with difficulty level.

I've just checked both the lever and the vial of blood is in the same place in both v_1.0 and v_1.1, so yes still would help to have a save from Lady Taffer.
PS. The only copy I had was v_1.0 so thanks for the heads up there is a later version as I will be starting testing 2012 missions shortly.

I was a tester of this FM and played the 1.1 version. Lady Taffer, do you want me to check this out for you, because I can't remember the exact spot where the switch is.

Post a quicksave on this forum, you'll need to upload the save onto a file sharing site such as Google drive and post the link using the world icon.

Sorry, I can't figure out how to do it. The quicksave function doesn't seem to work for me. Let's just forget it. I know how the mission goes, anyway.

I said quicksave because last time I used the word save Lady Taffer wasn't sure what meant, she could upload any save, hard or quick.
There is another way you can get a save to me, could can send it by email, just include the save as an attachment in the email, you'll find my email in my profile.
