Woah, I am seriously starting to hate the dark engine! It seems to mutate slightly for every player! Seems impossible to catch all the bugs! :ebil:
I think I see what happened for both John and Aspirin:
John: The door that says "You can't push it from this side" is actually just a large plaque. The door on the other side is essentially a button - the button controls a Destroy Trap that destroys the plaque and the button, and triggers the real 3-D door to move. Somehow (and I didn't think it was possible through the wall!) you've frobbed the "button" from the "plaque" side, and triggered the door and the destroytrap. Guess your version of Garrett has really thin fingers to get in the gap and push it! :laff: The good news is, this doesn't officially break anything, it just renders the fire shrine puzzle obsolete!
Aspirin: The door inside the Fire Shrine (in the cubby hole) that leads to the maze should be shut until you grab the Staff. When the staff is grabbed, it makes the floor loose at the exit to the throne room, and also opens the door at the end. But, as you seem to have foreseen this, you rope arrowed over the collapsing floor and escaped the way you came in, instead of falling for my evil trap! Therefore, the door is still open, but approaching it from the other side, it doesn't seem to make much sense because it's just the exit to the trap maze. Again, luckily, this does not break game flow at all, it just makes that area seem confusing.
Hope that sheds some light on the mechanics that caused these issues! Here's hoping most players aren't as sneaky and ingenious as you two! :cheeky:

I've checked it now repeatedly and trap door opens even if I put rope arrow into beam. So I should jump to rope arrow to cross over trap.
The trap door didn't open only first time I played this part. Maybe Daihoteps soul slept that time... ;) :)

eep - Your intuition is correct, even though you skipped that class. ;) There is in fact
a heart. When you got the staff you went through a "throne room" with a scarab. The heart is in the chest next to the throne.
When I was in the room with the scarab there was a broken chest next to a dried up husk of a dude. Is that the chest you speak of? If so, I frobbed it but got nothing. Maybe I was too far away since I was trying not to awaken the dried up husk of a dude. I'll try again...but now there are a whole bunch of dudes (not dried up husks), so I'll need to run the gauntlet. Thanks Tannar and Elentari...your comments went straight to the heart of the matter.:cheeky:
EDIT: Got it. It was in the chest...that's easy to miss.
Great mission...just spectacular!

Just finished this wonderful mission, thanks Nick! It was challenging in spots but never so hard that I had to search for answers here, which means the gameplay design is perfect!
One question, though.
In the throne room, before I went back and got the staff, I roped up to one of the high beams above the scarab's path. I frobbed a lever up there and heard something open or move, but it seemed to be above me and I never did figure out how to get up there to see what it was. I saw what looked like a pole with a red thing on the end before, and it seemed to have maybe gone up inside something after I frobbed the lever, but I couldn't really tell. I suspect all I missed was loot, but can someone hint me on how to get to it?

Yandros: The lever opens a panel in a stone pillar suspended from the ceiling. Inside is one of the relics. If you rope up to the span where the lever is (careful of the boiling oil), you can reach up and grab it!

Now I have to play on expert and get ALL the relics!
:o I only found one on expert. Actually I did have fun playing this mission. It was all new to me because I didn't play FBTS 1. I still have a lot of catching up to do. :)

Um, yeah  I noticed that the plaque didn't highlight at every point I was facing it, so I figured I would try it anyway.

Any gentle nudges to the Book of the Dead please?
I think I'm getting rusty...either that or I'm up too late again.

Nicked: I forgot to say, the trap in the Book of the Dead room - while what happened wasn't too surprising, it was exceedingly, awesomely cool.

Terrific and very nice missions, Nicked! :)
Two questions: where is the Throne Room? where is the buttons to insert
the hieroglyphic code designed into the two maps?
Hint:
Go down, through the floor. Spoiler:
There's a hole in the floor in the area of the 'fake' Emperor's sarcophagus. Go down it!
