Thanks, found it! I totally missed it before. I thought I had to
manufacture some explosives using chili and beans and blow a hole in the wall under the stairs. Oh well... :)

You're not alone... I opened two safes and got home, but never found the blackjack, so now I have to go back, but that seems almost impossible having to pass through a fully lit area with two guards. I may have to restart.

Well looks like we did exactly the same thing :D
I managed to pass them once but of course they saw me and chased... until I reached the metal gate West of the starting point.
For some reason I went back to Thorchild's place and getting past those two guards still without blackjack brought some punishment upon me, even though I managed to survive.
I restarted the game now that I know where the blackjack is, and it's much easier with that good old friend ;D

I'll make a run for it and hopefully I can hide in the basement until the guards calm down. Then I will have to find the herbs before I'm done.

I have problems with preparing the recipe:
I've got a bowl filled with soup (which doesn't go to my inventory), white bread and gouda.
Bread and gouda can be placed in the furnace,but not the bowl. How do I proceed?
