Keeper E
The Orc force has been completely eliminated and consigned either to the pit or to a warmer abode. Unfortunately, I was unable to liberate the poor souls that the Orcs locked up underground. You will need to get a team of explosive experts to free them before they either starve to death or become some Orc's dinner. For as you surmised, the siege and destruction of Nahoras was just a prelude of worse to come. These ugly grunts are planning to completely annihilate mankind.
And before you Keepers even squeak about another prophecy of how I'm supposed to save your butts and that of the rest of humanity yet one more time, make sure that The Flame of the North (included in this message package) is repaired and returned to me.
Garrett

Hahaha, excellent letter and so true!:cheeky: :thumb:
Although I am afraid the Keepers can't reforge the sword yet (even when there are elves and dwarves among them:tsktsk: ), Garrett will have to find something in part 2 first:sweat:

Cavalorn, this morning I played your entry from the Total Crap Contest, and though it was total crap, (what a surprise, they all were!) I really enjoyed playing that mission. I wondered if you made more, and now I just finished this excellent FM. A fantastic mission with excellent architecture and atmosphere. I hope there will be a sequel very soon, with more adventures for "AraGarrett". Those orcs looked pretty good, I am curious how the elves will look like. :cheeky:

Dug deep in my archives and pulled this mission out to play - it somehow got by me when it was first released. A lot of fun, I love big missions with lots of ground to cover and places to explore. Any news on the next installment?
(and I have to admit I might have thrown one or two Orcs into the lava :ebil:)

The next installment is under construction. :) At the moment I am waiting some comments from a tester of mine. It is in some kind of a pre-alpha version. :erm:
Thank you playing it and being interested in the sequel.:D

I can't wait for the next installment. Lemme know when you're ready to beta test Cavalorn, I'd be very happy to help. I hope the hobbits come to the rescue!

Have watched all three Lord of the Rings movies recently, I decided to check this out.
I just finished Attack of the Orc. Took me 1 hour and 5 minutes, with 3885 out of 4785 loot found.
It's always difficult to build a FM in the style of another game, or a movie in this case, so respect for giving this a try, Cavalorn :thumb:
Regrettably, this effort didn't entirely succeeded IMO. While there are plenty of Orcs around, and some other aspects from Lord of the Rings around, it didn't managed to catch the feel of the movie.
The right music and removing more similarities with Thieff would've helped. Only the sealed section did a decent job to catch the feel of the movie.
Some other points of ciritcism: the atmosphere. Some weather of fog would've been welcome, and could help covering the understandable but crude design of the map (like JohnEric's Stronghold did). In terms of gore and violent deaths however, Attack of the Orc is convincing, but it never felt scarry to me.
Furthermore I expected a more living environment, being able to pull one of the many switches for instance, or perhaps encountering survivors of the raid, to assist in killing Orcs (what about the posted guards opposite the collapsed bridge over the lava btw?).
Also I found it too easy playing on Expert. Even ghosting doesn't seemed to be difficult.
Overall I expected more from this mission.
Sorry for not being more positive, Cavalorn. I hope you'll finish Part 2 of this story and that it'll be more to my liking.
