A direct question for you, since I read at least 30 pages .....:nono: Where in pt 2 do I find the tunnel 13 key and where is the lab and that soul heart?
DrK on 25/1/2012 at 19:29
If I remember correctly, the key to tunnel 13 can be found in the souls compound. This compound is near the black market in the second part of the city, in underground tunnels.
One tunnel joins a big water canal, and the entrance to the compound is close to this canal. Watch for a glyph on a wall, under a sewer light.

Merci DrK. I totally missed that. :eww:
I'm just warming up for part 4 :sly:

After the recent pole on Night 4 and 5. I decided to play this great series again. Night 1. I am at the start in Garretts room. Before the closet door to his gear there appears to be a panel that clangs like metal when I hit is so I assume it is a door. Should I be looking for a switch or is it just a minor flaw?
DrK on 20/2/2012 at 20:18
It's a secret door to the attic nearby. Can't remember where the switch is though. Shouldn't be too hard to find.

Finished the 1st Rocksbourg mission on Expert...
Once again the visuals and the sound are top-notch. Without a doubt, Mr. DrK, you are one of the best FM makers when it comes to these particular factors. I just love your level design. The atmosphere created by it is always a great pleasure for me to experience.
BUT: I think it's a huge letdown that if the player doesn't know that the first two important keys are hidden like needles in a haystack it is impossible to find them. And this is just frustrating. I read your explanation about Namez being totally crazy, intentionally hiding the keys in such stupid places... but still, the player has to get clues or at least one little hint that he/she has to look in every corner like a madman. I know that this is a typical FM thingy... but we aren't talking about secrets here, but about things needed to finish the mission. :nono:
The other keys were absolutely fine. For example in the library ... the player just used a key to open that mysterious place, it is absolutely obvious that he should not leave until he has found something useful there. That's how it can be done. Not randomly throwing some key in the sewers miles away from the place.
If it weren't for this, in my opinion, intentional blooper, this mission would get an A+ (excellent) rating from me. But so it comes down to a B++ (very good) rating. Overall I had a great time with this mission. :) The scene in the burnt mansion just scared the hell out of me. :D
And yeah, I also missed the secret switch for the room with Garrett's equipement in it... and played like the whole mission without it, but I take that as a mistake of my own. :thumb:

Thanks for the explanation, but you do realize I've been aware of this for the past 7 years, right ? :laff:
These are a beginner's mistakes, I made sure to avoid these problems with my next missions.
I may do a gold edition using NewDark, fixing all the flaws in my first 2 missions. Nothing planned for now.
Thanks for playing it and enjoying it anyway!

Just wanted to express my thoughts a little... :cheeky:
I rediscovered my love for the Thief universe just recently... hence I am still at the beginning of my career as a FM-player. So don't be suprised that I don't always take the age of the FM into consideration.
Thanks for creating these great missions. It definitely won't be the last FM from you I have played!

I hope that's not the case, to have broken this one too. :laff:
Found a living person by a fireplace, confined to this rooftop with a fireplace next to him and looks like a Keeper by the outfit, if this is the living Keeper how do I take him to the house where I started?
If its not the living Keeper just say no, I rather want to explore and find him.
I tried to blackjack, but dropping the unconscious body around the room where I started does not tick off any objective.
Definitely found the dead Keeper on a very bloody mess.
Dropping it off in Artemus room definitely doesn't tick off the objective to bring him the dead Keeper, tried to throw it on the bed, on the table and around the floor, again what am I doing wrong?
I'm stuck, a nudge to right direction will be appreciated, maybe I have forgotten something vital?
P.S. I am running on a working Thief 2 version 1.19, hope its not that because it works perfectly outside of this FM. :(
[edited] Part 1 works perfectly, but it says that I have only found 2 out of 4 secrets, walkthrough only includes 2 out of 2, why is that?
DrK on 8/12/2012 at 11:18
The dead keeper is in the Souls compound, in a torture chamber. The living keeper is supposed to be lying on the ground, in second part of town, in an attic above the black market tunnels. If he looks like a keeper then it must be him but he shouldn't be standing, maybe it's a bug from NewDark...
To bring him to the starting point you just have to take him with you as he is lying on the ground. Try to blackjack him if he's standing.
Besides that, where are you stuck exactly ? Which objectives do you have to complete ?
I have no idea about the secrets bug in first map, I don't remember anything the like. Probably a NewDark bug.
