Okay, okay , as some people seem to give up searching keys in the first mission, here they are :
1 - Lord Namez quarters = in the burnt manor courtyard, where a mechanist and a servant are speaking. Look under bushes and wooden stairs.
2 - Librairy key = Look in the canal, where a tunnel begins
3 - Tower key = in the Namez burnt librairy, at the left corner, behind a statue debris
4 - Namez manor = in the tower, under furniture behind books
5 - Cellar key = in the burnt manor, under fallen beam
You have to find that cellar key, because a great reward awaits you ;)
And Kaleid, you had the same prob as Bikerdude, about the "too loud music". In fact, he sent me back music with lowered volume, so with him it sounds good, but I could barely hear them in game. In fact, it seems it depends on your audio settings in game options or something. And the "louder-music-than-original-game" is also a choice :cheeky:

I've tried every setting I can with T2 (and soundcard) to get the ambient sounds lowered, but it has no effect. I even re-installed T2 and patched it, but it has zero effect :(

Well in my concern, I don't find my ambient sounds are that loud. If it disturbed me, I would have lowered them. Maybe it's a matter of each one's tastes ? :p

I had difficulties hearing some of the conversations due to the background sounds. My ambient volume is at 20% and normal volume is at 80%.
Very cool FM - I've just finished the first one and will start on the second one soon.
Three suggestions:
a) Add a map. I got frustrated getting lost all the time. Garrett could easily have made a map while he was there, but we cannot paint on the map ourselves.
b) The locations of the keys could be more logical - if it were not for this thread, I would never have looked in the canal, for instance.
c) At sometimes a mechanist says the standard "For Karras and the builder". Perhaps you could replace that sound file as it makes little sense in the context of the story.

Of course I've tried that. I usually have the 'normal' volume at 100% and ambient at 40%. I've tried moving the slider but it has no effect what so ever.
I've also tried disabling hardware sound, lowered amount of channels from 24 all the way down to 12, disabled 4 speaker sound back to 2, turned off eax, cmss etc...
For some reason T2 ignores ambient volume. I'll play around with the .cfg files a bit.. (Audiocard: X-fi extrememusic)

"Counter mode on"
I draw a map for the second mission, but I spent hours on it and so I became lazy for the first mission :cheeky:. Nah, honestly I feared that the first mission would be too short if there were things like easy found keys and maps. As I know where to find objects and I know perfectly the level, I finish the mission in 20 minutes !
the location of the keys couldn't be logical, because Lord Namez is insane, and he became insane because he met "someone". And that "someone" warned him about future Garrett's visit. So Namez prepared that little game hunting. He is insane, but aware about Garrett, and knows that he'll find the keys sooner or later, so he proposes you a challenge ;) When you read his diary and servants notes, you'll notice sometimes he wrote to Garrett ("you who read me") and a few sentences like "easy for him", where him is Garrett :p. But all this can be understood later in the campaign ;)
Builder's Children often say "For Karras and the Builder". What's the matter ? They know Karras is dead, but they still worship him, and they consider he joined the Builder's heaven, like a human that became a god. when you read the Mechanists diary, you can read sentences like "and Karras showned us the path, and went to the metal heaven where he finally met the builder"

I've located the secret door in the black market but I can't find a way to open it
I agree that ambient volume was sometimes annoyingly loud, especially on some sound systems, so I solved the issue using a .WAV editor, simply cutting 3db on the concerned .WAVs. That made the mission more enjoyable.
