This is certainly one of the best missions of 2005 (just), but I'm sure if it was a few days late then it would still be one of the best missions of 2006 in a years time.
What I love to see is great textures and lighting contribute to great atmosphere - it really draws the players in, and however great a story is, many FMs fall down in presentation. I mean, whatever way you look at it, for instance, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is a great play, but get kids to act it out, and it's not exactly great drama.
To communicate a great story you need suitable and appropriate atmosphere to do it justice, and so you do need a degree of eye candy. Not for the sake of itself, but for the sake of immersion and storytelling. I mean, I'm sure Shakespeare's just great played by a bunch of chimpanzees. They probably really communicate the great bard's lines in a way which resonates with the audience. Similarly bad texturing, lazy architecture and poor lighting really takes away from a mission.
Therefore I salute DrK for making such an immersive mission (whether or not you liked the plot or premise or whatever, you can't deny the atmosphere) - and a great and promising debut as well.
The only thing I would say is I'd prefer less ripped audio from other games, especially considering the number of talented ambientists around here, but hey.

I've been all thru this fm. Knocked out or killed everyone except the guy sleeping on bottom bunk in the inn. Read everything in this thread. Can someone tell me how to open the frobable door under the staircase in the inn, or where else the basement is?
Thanxs,
Hope Vincent:confused:

Incrustable poo
The tower isn't obvious when you're in the courtyard ? Once you enter the servants house, turning left leads you to Namez quarters and kitchen, but turning right leads you to the tower ;)
Hope Vincent
If you read more precisely the thread, you would have found several spoilers to open that door :sly: You have to get the key "tunnel 13" in the archives of the Laboratory (the sect compound). Did you go that far ? What is the basement you're talking about ?
And thanks Fingernail and Aspirin for your compliments ;)

To open the door under the stairs in the inn you need the key which is in the sect compound (in the forbidden library) which is in the area after you go through tunnel 21, to access the tunnel you also need to find the key
Have you been to the builder's children compound yet? find a female pagan near a gate, through that gate you can get there and i think the key to tunnel 21 is in that compound.

Kerrie and DK
You use the key down in the canal( at the end of the street the inn is on)
From there you will go to a new area where you find yourself a whole lotta fun (the two keepers too)
After you come down ladder from your start point you will go through a couple of archways its on the far side of one of them.
I've been thru tunnel 21. Got all the equipment there. Been in the tower where the zombie shows up on the bed. Found the glyphs, etc. Took Keeper Ramy back, but didn't find 2nd Keeper. The only thing here that I didn't do was open the metal door in one of the tunnels. Is that the Lab archives? If so, how do I open it?
Thanxs,
Hope Vincent:cool:
A metal door in the tunnels ? You mean the sewers ? There is a secret behind a metal door in the sewer 21, look for hints given in the thread. Otherwise, there aren't any metal door that can be opened in the black market tunnels. Still, you have to look for a hidden glyph in these tunnels, that wil lead you to the Laboratory, and in there you'll find the Soul Heart, the second keeper, and the key to the door under inn stairs.
