Aspirin, thief crash because you still haven't made the codecs to work properly. Did you try to get last version of media player installed on your computer ? It crashs because you can't play the video...
Anyway, here is a tip to make the fm work with you :
Open folder strings/ and open 'missflag.str with notepad. At the end, miss_21:"no_loadout, end" is written. Replace it by miss_21:"no_briefing, no_loadout, end"
So when you'll launch the mission, the game won't read the briefing video first, you'll directly start playing ;)
Too bad you can't watch my vids, I spent so many hours making them...
Hope Vincent, I don't get it : you finished the mission, or you're stuck and you give up ?

DrK,
Finally found the glyph to open that hidden door. Finished in 8 hrs with 4901 loot. It was really hard and I was playing on easy, but I will play again in a few days. Nice fm, even tho I don't like blood and gore.:(
Thanxs,
Hope Vincent:) :thumb:

DrK, this is what I cannot understand. You wrote,
For the fortress, check your map, second page : that's on the right, called 'forteresse'. Once you're on the bridge above the canal and in front of the fortress, go left in the light shafts, then go right and directly left to be in the city streets. The sign is somewhere here, look near the streetlamp, on a wall for a frobable sign
The phrase "go left in the light shafts" is a complete mystery to me. What does it mean? Can anyone else tell me? When I'm standing on the bridge in front of the fortress -- that's the thing at the very end of the first city streets, with an un-KO'able guard, over a canal that has the entrance to Tunnel 21 in it, right? -- I am already on the city streets. I don't know what you mean by "light shafts."
The only place on the left that looks like it might lead to city streets is a building with some machines in it. Passing through leads to the tiny area with the house of the window-installer who writes very poorly, the house just above the Tunnel-21 door. There is a locked gate there through which I can see more streets. Do you mean there is some way to open that gate? There is a streetlight, but I cannot for the life of me find any "frobbable sign" on any of the walls.
Can someone please help? Am I even looking in the right place?
(I got the other secret, the one with the balcony with a missing railing -- thanks, DrK.)

Daffyd...
The fort is that big giant castle/church thingy with the unknockable guard on the bridge.
The Light shafts I presume are the windows beaming with lots of light
Edit:
Found it!
Cross the bridge that had an un-KO-able soldier, take a left. follow it and then turn right. Take the first turn left after that. You will see the lamp post.
Just to the right of the lamp post behind the verticle wooden post at slightly above eye level is the symbol
Oh, DrK...
I still cannot find 'him'
I had a look over by the mechanist building/warehouse as mentioned (Then a ghostly voice says, he watching you) but did not see 'him'.
Does he only appear for a few seconds and then disappear?
Orfeus21 on 4/1/2006 at 03:39
i got into the cellar but cant find anythin there exept for a few statues... I can crawl through a passage and only get below a guard that tries to cut my head off!
The zombie was really creepy looked like one of those Fulci zombies... but after being in the tower i still cant find the mechanist ore(anyone can tell me where it is?)
And how do I get into the other part of town? Is there a switch in the cellar maybe? :erm:
my other objectives did tick

The place i saw 'him' he is always there. This is on the balcony opposite the 'secret' room and 'him' is on the right side on the rooftop
I suspect some people have low gamma settings so they can't see 'him', obviously you need to turn it up. :)

I'm finding the darkness of the level to be a bit of a problem. It seems as though playing at the default level of gamma is perfect for atmosphere and general game difficulty (in regards to view distance of guards etc), but its really difficult to see items. What I basically have to do is play through an area in the normal gamma, then switch to maximum gamma in order to search the area for items/keys or secrets, which really breaks the immersion factor. I think items that are important to the progress of the mission should therefore be placed in more obvious spots, I'm referring to the first two keys you need in the first mission in particular, I never would of found them without checking this thread for hints (edit: or make flares last much longer so you can get some good vision but not have to fiddle with brightness settings). There's also a bug with the keeper's equipment crate in the second mission, its supposed to give you your equipment but for me it took away my blackjack. Reloading an earlier save and opening it again worked properly.
Besides that its one of the best FM's I've ever played :) .
ps. Is there a secret in the fireplace of the pub in the second mission?. There appears to be a wood section at the top that looks as if it should open but I cant find any buttons or levers.

Bob_doe_nz, are we playing the same mission? When I walk across the metal bridge and "take a left," I bump into a wall. There is no egress that I can find except back across the same bridge I just crossed. If I walk back north over the bridge, turn left then right, I go down some stairs to an unfrobbable door.
I must be missing something huge... am I standing in the wrong place? Do you mean the unfrobbable guard at the beginning of the mission or at the end of the first set of streets, over Tunnel 21? Only one has a metal bridge.
Thanks,
Dafydd

OK Daffyd...
My apologies, I meant to say Mission 2. Go past tunnel 21.
Above the canal leading to the black market area is a soldier that cannot be blackjacked. He is on the bridge I am talking about.
Hope that helps :)

Where's the entrance to the sect compound???. I've cleared the sewers, staring area, locked gate area with the mechanist factory, and the the other large area where you get the
sword and the unconcious keeper
.
