If you got the sword here's what you do[SPOILER]
come out of the area where you got the sword. go left you see 2 doors and a doorway that goes int the tunnels thru door take right to end take left follow to end. There you will see another doorway to your right with some bars. That's the canal. The secret door is on your left. To enter turn around and look down the way you just came see that light on the left... good... go stand in front of it .. now look down and to the left... there's the switch [/SPOILER]

Thanks for your help. My problem is that I am far away from where I found the sword and can't find my way back. I am in front of the inn. Boy, do I feel dum :o

[SPOILER]go out from the inn, and turn right to the city walls. Go in little canal, head to left : there is a door on your right. cross the sewers to another ladder, here you are in the second part of the fm. go in front of you until a cart with corpse. Go in the Red Place and head to the middle passageway : you'll get to the black market stairs :cheeky: [/SPOILER]

Yep, DrK, you made quite a labyrinth, but this is the most adverturesome, agonizing, intriguing and frustrating, 1st rate...top drawer FM. I love the architecture and the ambience. It reminds me of an ancient village that might have been in France. Superb job!
Just don't listen to the others that would like to have an easier time finding bjectives in your next FM. :joke:

Well I was able to get down to the sewers below the inn but seem to be running around accomplishing nothing. I have all my objectives met (playing on hard). How to I finish?

Very nice work. I cant wait to play the rest of the campaign. I got a good 5 to 7 hours out of the 2 of them counting all gameplay reloading and all. The only thing that bummed me out was part one seemed a little cramped. It was hard for me to orientate myself and I got lost alot at first. It is easier for me to recognize a place from a distance and with buildings so close together they started looking the same but from what I here many european cities are the same way. Narrow streets and all.

"l'antre des mages" is a french translation of the fm "the mages aera". I think the english version can be found on thiefmissions.com or at the Keep.
