Good idea. Even after I hacked the ambient sound files to a lower volume setting, so I could hear my own footsteps and those of others nearby, I still can't understand most of the conversations. Also, a loud voice whispers at me every so often but I can't understand anything it says.
This is a very creative and large mission set and every street looks different from every other one, which is nice. I'm working on the second mission at the moment, Expert level.
Question: In the first mission, I got teleported to a strange place and met a strange creature, but don't understand its identity or purpose. There were a lot of books and scrolls in the mission but it wasn't enough to piece together what was really going on. Is that going to become clear in the second mission or do I have to wait for the third one?
Thanks,
Don

I would never have survived dancing around in the cell waiting for the other gate to open, having never cultivated my Thief fencing skills.,

I did. The only answer is this
(
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1381691&highlight=demon#post1381691) which identifies the new AI type as a demon (not very specific, but that may be a translation issue) and confirms that Its maltreatment of visitors drove the guy crazy. I want to know what It is trying to do. Perhaps I can rephrase the question: is It going to reappear in future missions, or was the scariest moment of the first mission just a side quest?
By the way, after getting killed the first time, I also got out through the "in" door, hid, waited until It gave up looking for me, then found the escape route. I would never have survived dancing around in the cell waiting for the other gate to open, having never cultivated my Thief fencing skills.
Mostly I'm just happy to have an Internet connection, after 4 days without one...

Silent Hill+first person perspective makes Jack a dull boy :(

Woo...a lot of buzz coming from this campaign...hmmm...*downloads*
btw...can it be ghosted? :)
As in, I don't -really- have to BJ anyone?, save if it's a mission objective or a 100% impassable part where I have to either BJ/Kill/Distract someone :).
It's just that I started to ghost some FMs I'm replaying and I'm finding it a blast :).

DrK - I know you've gotten many of these, but one more won't hurt you, I think ;).
*Stands up from his seat and claps*
Bravo, bravo.
You've done a man's job, sir.
:)
The level of detail, the multiple pathways, the variety of secrets and how they added to the story rather than feeling out of place, the very Thief 1 cramped city style (I don't mind T2's more open and large spaced levels, though), the briefing movies, the story that seems to be building into a lovely lovely bundle of gripping drama and suspense, the perfect atmosphere and mood.
If I had to choose a nitpick worth poking at would be that the background music, great as it is, didn't stayed much in the background and made hearing other noises a bit hard :). Any other nitpick would be the pain of tasting these two lovely morself of FM goodness and knowing the next FM is due in months. You, sir, are cruel, in a most excellent of ways. I salute you. :)
Bravo, indeed. Keep up with the good work and craft us another excellent FM, please :).

Well said, and I would say the same thing. I loved the background noises, the only one that got to me after awhile would be that damn cat that yowles every so often.
Drk's building and architecture make me jealous...
