I have been playing through these wonderful fantastic missions again.:thumb: Just as exciting still, forgot things. Tunnel 21 reminds me Of the dark zone in the third mission.those noises love it, they are wonderful to play, they do rock.
I got the Easter egg! :thumb:
Are you still mad at me Drk for those mistakes, I was thinking best not return.:ebil:
DrK on 15/8/2008 at 18:11
What the hell ? I've never been mad at you Gillie !
Mistakes happen. Honestly I don't care but taffers who need help might be veeery frustrated to find uncorrect answers. I only asked you to check if you give the correct names, to avoid frustration, but I never told you to stop helping. :thumb:

Replayed "A new beginning", Didn't find the two secrets and missed about 900 of the loot but the good news is:
I've got a first draft of almost the whole map!!! Only a little is missing and that's the two secrets I think.
That means that as soon as I have a scanner there will be the second draft in good quality.
I don't know how long it will take, other two missions are coming too, will try to make provisional jpgs with camera.
Actual work done as tribute to these gorgeous missions:
A night in Rocksbourg:
- A new beginning: All the quarter has been mapped and has to be redrawn as a whole and to be scanned.
- Discovery: Nothing Done yet
- Ink & Dust: Firts half drawn and first quarter redrawn and photographed.
Let's hope this makes the frustration of some fly away in dust so that they all can appreciate this good work, and let's hope that others will do the same with other FM...it gives a longer life to them I think...
I'll let you hear news as soon as possible! Keep on Sneaking :thumb:

:D Thanks for your work taffer. At first it was intended not to give a map, to accentuate the maze and to force exploration, but I guess a map as a bonus won't harm anyone.
Secrets (nothing new for the map I fear) :
1 - Above the canal, there is a wooden house which you can visit, one of the rooms is similar to a bridge. Inside the house, above the table, there is a very well hidden moneybox.
2 - Outside Namez compound, between the huge wooden door and the metal bridge, there is a moneybox hidden in a barrel, in an archway leading to a garden.
Easter egg :
On that metal bridge, there is a big door. On the ground on the side of the door, there is a tiny lil ring with a jorge (blue) texture close to it.

Already Found it all, thanks again.
I know this wasn't meant to have a map, but I read the whole thread again and sometimes it gets difficult to understand where what is using just words, so maybe for those who already played it and just want to make a second run through or for those who really can't find that last key some visual reference cuould give the right impression.
playing ANIR 1 again has been wonderful again, remembered why I did like it so long, also for the immersive readings...
I think you will have to make a "kill the cat bonus sequence" just for those who spent more than 3 hours in that part of town, maybe an easter egg in the next missions :D
now after 3 days of mapping this out I'll try to redraw this map the right way, then time for tunnel 21...
And oh, the "demon" still scares the hell out of me, very tensive moment that running around, also because it's the exact time all phones got ringing and people asking for me and I got so irritated because i didn't want garret to die but didn't want to pause either...:ebil:

Finished Part 1!
The Mapping out Rocksbourg project goes on and "A new beginning" has it's own map.
I uploaded two new images, one is evocative of the work in progress and the second is the actual Level 1 Map, which needs a little linking from the actual map to the downstairs and upstairs parts that couldn't be drawed on the same surface because they would have covered each other, that part will be done soon.
I now need some time for next part but I still find this kind of work very funny. The map cannot be perfect because of the many 30° and 120° angles of the buildings making it a few degrees different crosses the buildings where they should not, I tried to be as much loyal to the original setting but still taking some freedom of interpretation where two streets met after being long separated in a seecret passage or similar. The final draft makes sense to me and gives a good impression of the quarter's geography, so...here are the links:

I like a lot what you're doing. :D
However, there is something wrong. I agree this map is difficult to draw, but overall it's too chaotic compared to the reality. Still, many places look very similar to what I built, so it's okay. Except one thing : the middle of the map which doesn't respect the original at all, I barely recognised it.
It's the street with the wooden house above the canal and the entrance to the mechanist warehouse. It looks so tortured, the street isn't that large and doesn't have so many turns, furthermore the courtyard behind Garrett's hideout leads into the warehouse tunnels, not the street.
Also, but minor details, the angle of the little canal which goes under the metal bridge has a too strong angle on your map. And in the top right corner, the tunnel, which connects the burnt manor and the courtyard behind Garrett's hideout, is straight with a 180 turn at the end, it's not the circular turn you draw.
It seems you only took in consideration the streets as you discovered them, not the size of the buildings surrounding them. I'd suggest you take a look at my mission through dromed, you'll see it's not THAT tortured, and despite some rotated angles the map can be much clearer.
Still, even if it's not 100% accurate, it can be a nice interpretation of the place, like if Garrett did a quick map while having a walk in the streets. But you should fix the middle of the map as I wrote, there are too many differences...
Keep up the great work :thumb:
