Finally ! :cheeky:
I read the ghost report on the first mission, and liked it. But then I didn't see the other one coming and thought you abandonned the idea to ghost my missions. Glad to see you're still on it.
I know it might have been difficult to do it, as I never thought about ghosters when I designed it. But I think I made it easier in third part, and can't wait to see your report on it, to see if it's really possible to ghost it ;)

I recently (as in a day or two ago) went back and played Rocksbourg 1 and 2 - and I have to honestly say that the Rocksbourg series has to be the best thief series I've ever played.
Here is why:
* The architecture is amazing. From the way the buildings intersect to the layout of the city itself - it seems incredible planning went into the design. I can appreciate that.
* The sound design - from the ambient sounds to the music to everything else - (the part where you grab the key and an event happens uses ramping music brilliantly) its just amazing. Thief is a game centered around sound - and you managed to make a city sound busy and filled with life without becoming overly annoying with it - a hard balance to achieve.
* The story is solid - not much else to say here.
* The scenes that you set up (the bar, for example - and the area with the robot with corpses strewn about like there had been a battle) paint an amazing picture of the struggle inside the city itself.
* Gameplay - I cant say it enough, these missions are a damn good time. You manage to have undead, mechanist creations and everything interwoven with humans in all the right spots so that its not overly frustrating. This is also one of the first missions that I've ever played that required you to not have a sword at the beginning that I actually enjoyed. I'm one of the types that loves to sneak and not be seen, but if something goes down - I dont want "run away" as my only option. The placement of shadows and how the layout was designed makes it perfect for being able to dash from a guard - hide for 10 seconds and then bonk him with the blackjack as he searches for me. I love that. Hell, I even managed to knockout everyone in the city (other than the mysterious white clad fellows) in the second mission and pile them in a giant pile just out of sight and had a blast doing it.
The third mission in this series was probably my least favorite - but that being said its probably because it scared the hell out of me and I got that helpless and defenseless feeling that was probably meant to be implied - :laff:
Although it was my least favorite of the three - everything about the third mission was incredible. Its probably the best looking FM ive ever seen, and everything about the production was top notch. I still had a great time playing it, and look forward to the fourth and onward.
Hopefully the fourth will be a return to the mysterious city atmosphere :D
Thanks again for all your hard work that you put into these missions DrK, I can only imagine how much work it takes to put together FM's of this caliber.

Oh no never! ;)
Life has just been very busy, with a new job and a soccer coaching position on top of that. And then you have the wife...who also deserves some attention. I've only gotten time for 5 minutes of Thief here and there, hence the time consuming process of Ghosting such a tough mission. But it all turned out good in the end.

Thanks SneakyJack for this post. It's always freakin' good to read such comments, it motivates me even more to continue building my fms.
It's not really a hard work, more like fun to me, if I didn't enjoy doing it I wouldn't do it. But it's a time consuming one : it takes me around 2 years to create and think about everything in these fms (with real life getting in the way most of the time).
I understand you so well Klatremus, some days I wish I had 5 minutes to actually work on my fm. No wonder why it took you so long ;)

Argh. I found Samael and took him back to Arteumus' room, but the quest doesn't update. Am I supposed to take him somewhere else? Artemus' note does say to bring the Keeper back to his room.
Same here. Tried dumping him all over the place, nothing happens.
I even brought him to the guy in Red Qt. above the fireplace who has the same outfit, nothing happened, either. Well, I BJed that guy to check, and he isn't Artemus anyway...
Edit: Nevermind, I re-read Artemus's note and see what the problem is...

What is the song on victrola in secret in storeroom in South Star compound?
Edit: and what's the point in collecting all those paintings? Don't answer if it is needed soemetime after leaving South Star, but if it is just collecting... They display the same rotating 'icon' no matter which one (or more) you grab...

Sound patch by Bikerdude and Baeuchlein
To be honest, the patches are almost exclusively made by Bikerdude. I still had them floating around on one of my DVDs when the original download links did not work anymore. I just wrote a few (complicated) instructions, which Bikerdude managed to simplify a lot (I think).
Credit where credit is due, and vice versa.;)

I have one objective left (returning dead Keepers); I have a Tunnel 13 key. Eh, what's tunnel 13 and where can I find it?...better yet, why do I need to find it? I'm running out of steam on this mission. It's beautiful, but I'm running around in circles. I tried to go back to the compound, but the portal doesn't work anymore. I can't show my face in the safety zone or I'm toast. I'm tired...going to...bed....:bored:

Heh, ain't the point of Thief to boldly crawl where no one has let you? ;)
