Dead keeper is in the compound's basement, there is a frobable book hidden in the circular library above the Soul's heart area. It opens a door at the bottom of the stairs. What do you mean the portals don't work anymore ? :weird:
Tunnel 13 is under the inn, there is a door under the inn stairs which is locked. It's the exit.

After exiting the compound, I was unable to get back to it through the portal behind the
secret door opened by the glyph in the blackmarket tunnels. I walked into it, but nothing happened. I read a few posts which indicated that I need to get back there to try another portal, but again the portal did not work.
Good news, though, this morning I tried again and it works. I guess something went awry and needed a restart.

Heh, ain't the point of Thief to boldly crawl where no one has let you?
:p Yes, yes, but it becomes quite an issue when you have to do it with a body slung over your shoulder!!!
I'll give it another go tonight.
BTW, DrK, how did you manage to get your ladders to behave so well? Are you using any sort of custom scripting? I have never played a mission where the ladders work so reliably. Usually, with so many ladders, I eventually fall off when trying to mount one. When jumping off a ladder, it seems that you have somehow created a brief period of time where no sound propagates. However you did it, it was great work. Ladder interaction is, for me, one of the stark weaknesses of the Dark engine and you managed to eliminate its odd behavior.

Sounds cool, but I didn't do anything to the ladders. I think you just got lucky :cheeky:

Actually, there's a bug in dark engine where you are MUCH more silent when carrying a body. You make less noise when up and running with a body than creeping without one, not to mention faster :)

Ok, that's it---I can't stand it anymore! There MUST be a way to get into that open window!!
At the beginning of ANiR 2 just as you step out of Estobiaz' room onto that balcony, across the way there's an open window, but seemingly no way of getting up there. I vaguely remember DrK mentioning a secret that had to do with shooting a rope arrow in this area, so I shot one into the only piece of wood I could find and managed to jump onto that lightpost on the other side of the area. . but now I can't see anywhere else to go. Is there a way to get to that open window?
DrK on 9/1/2009 at 13:01
It's not a secret, and I don't think I ever mentionned using a rope arrow for it. I think you're talking about another window later in the mission.
To get in here, just enter the security zone through the entrance near Estobiaz' place. On your left there are archways with dark red bricks, and a ladder on it.
Just climb it, open the door on your left, and that's it.
Lady Taffer on 10/1/2009 at 10:54
Aw, that window just leads into that tower? Huh. . I'll have to check it out. I've been wanting to try getting all the secrets and loot, but I just can't seem to find all of it. :joke:

Well, this is rather embarrassing. Playing on Shadow. Also, forgive me bad descriptions of locations because as amazing as the mission is, it's very difficult to find any points of reference. That's also the reason I'm having trouble finding any help in this thread :(
I've searched this thread for key, keys, and so on but I'm just outright stuck.
I've collected three keys, only one of which I've used:
The library, The hideout. Namez's bedroom door (I have the clues in the diary but they're not clicking for me).
I know of several unpickable doors, none of which match up to the two unclaimed keys I currently possess:
Near the house with the note that has the sewer guard complaining about his patrol. Three in Namez's place (upstairs which I presume is his wife's room, first floor when you turn right instead of left at the entrance, and across the courtyard next to the water. One at the top of a series of shallow stairs that switch back, near the Builder's Children warehouse. And the cellar door, which I've gathered will be found once I finally find Namez's burnt out mansion.
All of that being said: I've found the ore, and I've stolen over 2000 gold. That be it.
I've been everywhere, up and down as much as possible, knocked out everyone I can, gone back and over and through places I've already been and I'm just damned freaking stuck.
I would be grateful for a simple, easy to follow direction on where to find at least one key I need to get moving again if anyone is willing?
EDIT: Y'know, years go by when I don't play Thief, I come back and sure enough, my old theme continues. Get stuck and desperate enough to finally post and BOOM! I find the solution on my own.
Apparently one of those doors where I'd have SWORN I tried the library key on was actually, urm, the library. :D
Thanks!

I bet this is asked like one hundred times, but...
In rocksbourg 1 I just got the cellar key. I was happy :D
Then I just got teleported! And then some nice tall guy comes to kill me, so I am stuck. What to do?

Besides running around like a rat in a trapped cage, which that is truly an exceptional WTF, oh sheit moment! Crouch down, hide in the corner, you will take less damage from him, and look closely, one side of the gate will slowly start to open up, there is your escape route.
