Tis a good title indeed DrK. (I need one, I can't think of one.:P) Most taffers that know you, know you are an architect. So, adding the Rocksbourg, you get the best of both. How's #4 coming along? I am going to assume you've replaced your laptop?

I dunno :cheeky:
Normaly I have my new laptop this week (finaly !). I'm desperate to receive it, I can't really work correctly without it as I often move from places to places for my job.
I hope I'll manage to make dromed work on it. I found a way to make it work on my main computer anyway, but I don't really like working on it, it's more for fun and internet (dromed isn't fun, it's a serious work).

After a painful process I finally got thief 2 mods to work on windows 7 beta (for some reason can only get thief 1 mods to work in XP. Possible OS corruption but don't want to do a clean install). When I first loaded up these 2 maps I was amazed how great they look. Certainly preferred it to thief 3's claymation look. And to think they came out almost 4 years ago. Are there lots of thief 2 maps that look this great? Can't wait to try it after I finish off some of my modern backlog games first :D

Thanks for the compliments.
There are many fms which have improved graphics. There is Rocksbourg 3 of course :cheeky:
Transitions in chaos, Saint & thieves, Seven sisters, CoSaS project, Ashen age... Too many to name them all, if you search the forum you should find numerous threads about "best missions" and whatever, they would give you a list of great looking fms.

awesome. can't wait to try them out.
btw are there any other mirrors for the sound patch? The link in the first post is dead.

About first mission.
Wow, finally finished both FMs. It's hard to belive, that "A New Beginning" is your first mission. The atmosphere, textures, story, gameplay! You are surely a great builder.
Second mission mostly fixed first mission cons (just IMHO cons):
-Short thin streets & spaces nearly everywhere;
-A bit of a maze;
-Unforgiving keyhunt.
About second mission:
I could never have found the secret glyph in tunnels without this thread's great assist. (even though i found the secret are glyph). It's location just didn't really make sense. Also, i would never have let go of that locked door and zombies behind it, if i didn't read here it's just for a showoff. Lastly, what the hell is with the loot? I always play on expert and rarely get into trouble, but this was just hopeless. I had to find remaining 3 secrets with the spoilers tagged here to finally get enough loot. And when i end the mission, turns out i was short of almost 1000 loot. I demand an explanation! xD
You are one hell of a "steal-every-inch-of-the-map" guy. You bested me, i humbly kneel before you.
You must be tired of hearing compliments all the time (hey, don't build such masterpieces, then!), so i'll just hold mine for now... :ebil:

Nah I'm okay with it :cheeky:
You wrote you can't believe these were my first missions, but yet when I see the problems you encountered and the flaws you noticed (hard to find loot, missing clues etc...) you actually saw that these were my first missions.
An explanation ? I was just a noob in game design, that simple.
I forgot the player's point of view, I thought it wasn't so hard : of course I knew everything of them. But hey, gotta start somewhere, and I think I solved these kind of problems in third mission.
What a pity you consider the maze as a con, exploration is my design philosophy. :p

No, i read that in readme. I do such perverted stuff. :D
Actually i indeed shouldn't have pointed it as a con. I just needed to add some minuses i guess and i did get a little tired running in circles (finally got around what's where). Well, the design did felt like it could be more profesionally designed, but if you say you solved it in 3rd mission, althogh i was thinking you solved it in 2nd mission, it must be a pure masterpiece...
Hopefully my entire friday (or even earlier if i get the guts :D) shall be freed for Ink and Dust...
I shouldn't have seen the amazing screens of that epic library so early. I've been dreaming to see it for so long the excitement has nearly worn out. :D
Edit: Also i forgot to mention, that i was at frustration risks due to keyhuntin' in first missions and loot missing in second mission, but the beautiful mission itself kept me out of it. Look, how beauty and amazing design helps. :D

Again? (Sigh):tsktsk:
Since the links are still dead, I have uploaded the two sound files to a temporary webspace. Click on one of the following links to download the file(s). Instructions for installing the patches are included in the zip files.
(
http://sharebase.to/files/xzTHK8aH1P.html) Sound patch for UNAR1
(
http://sharebase.to/files/eMa6HPEMO8.html) Sound patch for UNAR2
If no one downloads these files for twenty days, the links will become inactive. So, if these two don't work anymore in the future, you'll have to try the links in the first post once again, or post in this thread and hope that I'll be a bit faster than this time.:cheeky:
A word of caution... When I uploaded these files, an advertisement popped up and wanted to obtain personal information from me in exchange for a newer version of Mozilla Firefox. Of course, I closed the ad. Neither was it necessary to get a newer version of Firefox, nor does anyone have to give away any sort of personal information to download Firefox from the Mozilla webpages.:grr: Don't walk into this trap, close this ad if it appears on your screen! This has nothing to do with Firefox or with the sound patches. It's just somebody trying to trick you.

Wasn't it hosted on the circle ? Looks like the links died after the change of servers.
If Pavlovscat could upload them agin on the circle, it would be awesome :p
Thanks baeuchlein anyway :thumb:
I added them on the first post.
