I've encountered this - no Death Talisman to collect (and it's not fallen off nor is it in my inventory) - and I can use the elevator and go down to where the purple dude lurks.
What happens: when I grab the Famine Talisman (the last of the 3 for me), I can see the flames on the Death Talisman go out - but no Death Talisman remains on the pedestal - it disappears. I've frobbed all round the pedestal, in case it dropped off, but nothing is there. Also, the elevator is usable before I even grab the Famine Talisman (I have the other 2 and the Death Talisman is still unfrobable in flames) - I can go down and do everything down there, except place the Death Talisman as I don't have it!

The picture of Book 10 is very dark :( so i can`t find the book.
Please picture of location where the switch is in the decoratives room/corridor

T-Linkz: shoot an moss arrow on vase wiith moss This took me a while, too.

Edit: Book 10 is somewhere else, near the start, in the room with big doors and guards and there are some monks

Finished almost all objectives for Miss. 2 on expert, but i've only found 4725 loot. I think, i've checked every square-inch of that map, played 5:40 hours and will give it a rest for now. Summer is coming :D
Edit 2: missed some loot on sarcophagi in the war horseman's tomb.
