T2 Mission Mysterious Invitation Jan. 16/06 - by Lightningline

All right, I finished, though I only had three secrets, whereas I know there are at least four. I ended up with 2080 loot... and I was quick enough to read the journal at the end and also get the extra rope arrows there!
Not a clean ghost for two reasons:
1. I had to use the invisibility potion to make it past the glowing spiders in the labyrinth. By the way, just a question... why didn't the author do the obvious thing and give the giant the head of a bull?
That would have been all right, just a chemical ghost, which is acceptable if one reports it. But this one is a ghost bust, and I don't think there's any way around it:
2. I had to cause the hoppy frog on the balcony to get near me and explode in order to get the Captain's Key which it had swallowed. Fortunately, I took no damage; and since I closed the door beforehand, I didn't alert any guards. But that's still a bust, and no two ways about it.
If there is a way around that, please let me know!
Thanks,
Dafydd

Completed all the objectives with 2085 loot and 3 secrets on expert but still don't know what "battue" means? I couldn't find it in Longman.

Longman is a great dictionary for ESL, I used it extensively when teaching in Asia. As to battue, the American Heritage Dictionary has it:

I see many posts with problems. Is it necessarily to make a further update? Otherwise nobody in the german forum had no technical problems.

I can not find Cripplewood or his key. What is he wearing? Is he a guard?
Got the Capt. key and searched everywhere for this guy. HELP!
Thanks Coreyb
Update: I finally found him on the first floor trying to walk through the wall...he
must of been at the tavern for too long.

I found him
stuck in a door (I love it when that happens) near one of the guard post downstairs. His key was on him. He's not a guard or servant type, he's the only one I've seen dressed like that, think he's got a bit of a beer belly and a pointy hat!
Ok, finished now, and enjoyed this very much. I found the floating sword and, playing normal, the only crashing I had in the labyrinth was when I tried to quicksave or load from a quicksave, can't remember which. Not a major problem. Chicken thief like me saves a lot!

I must be missing something obvious, but how do I get into the armory?
Nightwalker on 21/1/2006 at 17:59
You can't, apparently.

A few important things: There are really no lockpicks in the mission. And there's nothing in the armory, therefore the door isn't frobbable (is this word correct? :cheeky: ).

Well, then, I guess I can stop trying. Thanks, Nightwalker.
