Ah. Thanks for the reply! Much appreciated :)
This particular beast is normally stationed on the side of the bridge to the exit, not far from the octagonal structure. His disposition seems to be that of sentry rather than patrol-man and he’s the only beast on that side so I can’t coax others over.
I went back to a save before jumping across the bridge to see if that cleared any problems. As before I can get him to advance around the octagonal (on either side) to the half-way stage but no further. He can cause damage even when I’m not holding the hourglass when approached from the front. An interesting thing, possibly to do with my old laptop, is that his presence only gets revealed when you step next to the segment (of the 8) that he’s in. Prior to that the segment appears empty so it’s quite heart-stopping when suddenly he and his frightening roar appear in empty space. :laff:
The loot concerned is on a small ledge above the archway on the outside of the octagonal bit. Thinking he is not the solution to getting it I tried standing on the heavy piece of debris with the hourglass on top and vice versa but no good. Where’s a crate when you need one?. :D And I repeatedly tried climbing onto those long vertical wall lights(?) either side but my skills are not sufficient. :(
As an aside, I found the hourglass can be nudged along the floor to a slightly safer place when in tight situations (although time-consuming). Just don’t switch-away from that screen because the frozen beast often advances a pace when you return, undoing the good work. Clever stuff. :thumb:
Edit: Well I cheated in the end. And guess what, it was only worth 75. So I'm still 75 short. :laff:
Edit: Got all the loot in the end! Sloppy work on my part. I must have been killed without saving because a piece of loot I'd previously taken was still in its place! :tsktsk:
And finally ... went back and got the tricky (tricky for me) loot without cheating.
Very good mission!

An excellent mission and clearly my favourite so far. I loved the riddles and had a hard time finding out where to use the lit candle.
(Warning, the following text contains the solution of the candle-riddle!)
Once I turned off the portal and explored the map again I saw the meant room behind the library.
Turning the portal off while running into the library was a clever move.
That´s why I love your missions. The creativity of these riddles just astonish me - like in Bertrand's Forgotten Tomb. :thumb:

Consider my mind blown. :wot: I would LOVE to see this kind of DromEd wizardry used in more missions in the future!
Finished with 1275/1350 loot and 1/1 secrets. I'll have to dive back in and find the last crystal I missed.

Lots of fun. Many thanks for this mission.
BTW, unlike some of those above, I could jump the bridge with the heavy stone without a problem. At the time I didn't know about the portal. Just found the heavy stone and backtracked to the gravity talisman.

Another cool little mission.

This one is special, first time i see in a mission this kind of portal effects , it's genius! got stuck running in circles with the candle lit , then by watching Supremcee walktrough video i realized how i should have dealt with the teleport way of working. I recognized the soundtrack immediately, well chosen and well done places to explore. Thank you !

you can
drop the stone near the edge ...then jump back across and... then lean forward to get the stoneThis is how I initially tried to solve this puzzle, but I couldn't reach it. I did however get stuck on the bridge 20 times.
This is a really interesting mission. and I was perplexed with the
portal. I noticed that if I go into
the side entrances while the portal is active, and then back out through the center, I can see the room change back to the library.Edit: I forgot to mention that this mission reminds me of Elder Scroll Oblivion.

Or do you mean that it didn't function as you expected it should? What you describe sounds to be the
portal working as intended.

This speedbuild mission was a clever one. I've no idea what magic tricks were used to create the portal. Anyway, I enjoyed this mission a lot! Also, mission's soundscape was great and even the menu music was very atmospheric. Great job!

Maybe that was the wrong word to use, but I was trying to figure out how I could see into the
portal from one view and inside the original room from either side view. I wish I could do that at work. :p
