cardia1 you have made a fun mission which you should be proud of.
As elkston said you definitely have a talent for producing stunning arena style landscapes and "kill" style FMs that offer players a compelling challenge.
High quality traditional style FMs tend to be harder to design since there are many more factors to consider. The architecture tends to be more difficult (especially outside areas), the lighting is challenging (especially the balance between light and shadow) and the story lines, scripting and objectives more complex.
Making "kill" style FMs will always restrict your audience but many (like me) enjoy them every now and then.

Huh...
Finished it. Is not a traditional Thief mission but I liked. :thumb:
I believe it with blue masked demons I will dream. :cheeky:
Thanks Cardia1 :thumb:

I humbly bow down and offer my thanks to anyone who is dedicated enough to make a thief mission given the fact that I could never make one. I guess everyone has their favorite styles. This diversity makes me want to play each and every one of them which keeps me from being bored with one type of missionplay.

You´re welcome Sensut, this might not be a typical t2 fm but is something to cut the rotine, something to be different:thumb:

Thanks Bobber, i do like to create new atmospheres for thief to break the repetitive use of the same missions, sametextures, same architecture, same gameplay, i really enjoy thief, but i like to see something different once in a while. I want to create later t2 typical fms, but first i want to express myself on what i want concerning the architecture, to see where my imagination can go and can do with the architechture and its atmosphere;)

Yeah.. I'm going to give it another try in a few mintues.

I think you definitely have talent and skill at building clean, impressive looking architectures.
My feeling is that ONE DAY, you are going to make a killer FM. If not for Thief, then some other game. Because you obviously got the techincal stuff DOWN.
But as you can see, that is just one piece of the pie. The next major step figuring out what is actually fun and engaging to play. How do you use these spaces you create to really make a mission come to life, etc.
Please keep plugging away and things will get better.
Thanks Elkston, i don´t know if you ever played any of my previous missions, but they are not all about killing fm`s, for e.g. "Citadel of Douro" you don´t have to kill anyone. I´ve never bet so far all my creativism for the gameplay and for the story line, for the moment i just want to give something different , something were i can express all my creativity on what concerns the architecture, but i do really want to build later typical t2 missions, were i will work harder for the gameplay and for the storyline. because i know were my skills can go,ok?
see you around

I have troubles to kill the "to be killed ones".
I think this mission is a replay of Temple of Death, but that's OK. The architectures are different and also REALLY GREAT! I don't have to snug in a little corner to find a button or lever or loot and that's OK too, in this kind of mission.
It's an expanded mission .... I mean: I've got a lot to explore in huge sceneries, but it still seams logical :thumb:
But: and here's the BUT coming: I think it's TOO HARD to kill the ones who've to be killed!
With my inventory and different strategic skills: I couldn't make it happen, not even the first one.
So give me a hint?!!!

Cardia1,
Yes, I did play
Citadel of Duoro as well as some of the
The Broken Heart. I used the Broken Heart thread to make some criticisms and comments about both missions. Interesting parallels between my comments then and now:

....honestly, I am kind of lukewarm about this mission.
I think you have a good feel for architecture cardia1, but there is too much of a "cut and paste" feel in this mission and your previous one (The Citadel of Duoro).
Also, there are too many large empty spaces with nothing interesting to do between them -- no secret passages, no nifty "connections" between places, etc. Again this is similar to "Citadel", which had a very large city area, but nothing interesting to do. Lots of bulidings, but each placed separately away from the other and often rooms that looked very similar.
I beleive as you keep making missions they will get better. At least you have the technical stuff worked out (for the most part )
I haven't played "Teddy Bear's Curse" yet but do have it downloaded.
Appreciate your efforts regardless and will always give your FMs a try.

Gloria, if some of the other prisoners are still alive, get the "killed ones" to chase you and run to your other fellow prisoners. they will gang up while you run in circles trying to keep alive.

You´re right, and i know were i am less good, but that´s because i wanted so, please wait till i create typical t2 fms, i promisse i will work hard on what concerns within the thief gameplay.
