Ah. Yeah, I believe if you see other people's servers as ??? it's the servers fault and not yours. At least I know this is the case in unreal tournament 2004. You get a ping of N/A, which means it's impossible to join that server. For some reason. Probably because of their firewall.

It was probably caused by computer illiteracy on my part rather than anything to do with Thief MP, but my second attempt to open a port resulted in me losing my internet connection for a day, and spending a few hours on a tech support line trying to fix it. I still don't know what caused it, so for the time being I'm keeping all ports closed. :sweat:

Grr... Lost my net for like... Three damn weeks and lost my primary source of knowledge on...things, which stalled TMacro (the Thief macro program) to a bloody stand-still until I could get some kind of access. Thankfully, full net access has been restored, and I can begin my work again in earnest.
I may or may not have said I was developing it in C# (mostly for the learnin'), but I've since decided not to. I am instead going to go with Visual Basic 6. Why VB6? Because its the only Visual Studio 6 IDE (pre .Net days, so no MSIL/CIL shit) I have at my disposal, and I couldn't ever find a working torrent of VC++ 6. This should make the application much smaller and faster than it would've been under .Net, which is always good. That and I have a more thorough grounding in it than I do C# (VB6 was my first computer programming language), so I know at least some of the ins-and-outs.
Thankfully I wasn't all that far into programming it (didn't even have the goddamn macro code in yet), sooooo not much is lost in the move. :thumb:

Heyho guys,
Yesterday i just wanted to make a Multiplayer fm again after a month, so i downloaded the latest version. Well so far so good, a friend hosted the server, but i couldnt see it...So we decided to use hamachi for that, but as i firstly tried to log-in there, it just froze my pc. Okay, rebooted system, tried to log-in again, now it says the meditation server has rejected my request, I already tried (

http://foren.softonic.de/showthread.phtml?t=929) that, though you actually dont have to setup anything else in hamachi, regarding ports etc.
Btw I use G Data Internet Security 2008 and a Netgear Router, however i tried evry thinkable variation now: firewall on, firewall off, firewall with hamachi network allowed, on with free ports, and still my router Port 12975 allowed, how it was said in the faq.
Sometimes, when i have hamachi opened and turn g data off -> on, hamachi network (the network connection) tries to reconnect, and stucks at "getting network address" (German: "Netzwerkadresse beziehen"), for some strange reason. I use hamachi version 1.0.3.0, says its the latest version.
But what wonders me is also that i cant find any servers with the new MP, other times at least some random servers appeared...feels like i cannot see servers anymore. Btw, in that month i didnt change any with thief or g data, and i hadnt hamachi before.
Hope you can help me, would be nice :)

Hi gunder. Hmm, you shouldn't need to turn off the firewall to use hamachi, since hamachi is supposed to work with firewalls. Did you try reinstalling hamachi?

http://hamachi.softonic.de/download) At least it didnt freeze my pc after 1st time start.
Mh and as i said, i tried it with firewall at first. But then i tried evrything through. I also doubt its a version issue...And the router is also no general problem, cos for other users it worked perfect without further settings.

Hi, I briskly went through this thread and didn't see this mentioned yet so I apologize in advance if this has been reported already.
On precious cargo, I can't seem to get all players (just me and one other) to go down the elevator the same time. Only the person who has the piece of the wheel goes down. The other person is seen floating on the top.
I've tried it with the host putting the peg in and the other player putting the peg in. The result is the same, the one with the peg can go down, the other one stays there.
In kidnap, the big metal door leading to the 9 sites are closed. I tried re-hosting a few times with the same result.
So both of these issues for me, doesn't allow the mission to be completed.
Does anyone else have this problem?

if that's confusing, basically, if you have the peg, ride the elevator down and then you'll see a series of elevator switches, press the down one when the other players are standing on the platform themselves (it'll be at the top because it doesn't move for them)
hopefully that should work, it did in a version like...a year ago? :|
I'm afraid I can't help you on kidnap, I honestly don't remember that mission much, but Tos and I did play through it at least once in MP on expert, along with every other map except soulforge. Try doing the same thing in SP as you are in MP, perhaps you're missing something? I can't blame you if you are, I don't even remember there being doors leading to the sites :D

The door should be closed. You have to open it with a switch inside the base camp.
Directions: Enter the base camp, open the large double doors and go left. The switch should be around the corner to your left.
@vort: Can we expect a build with joining in between missions soon? The server browser is pretty much useless without it.
