Tonight I played with 2 friends "Betrayal". Everything was fine, except:
- Mechanist book, where the code for the security chamber is, was unreadable because we were not able to "open it".
This Mp patch is a great work, thanks for your effort.

I'm totally agreed with you. This Coop-Thief brought a fully new cooperative feeling to us. I love the coop games only, but this is an unbelieveable thing. I hope the mappers will make some "MP-designed" maps, because it's very easy to play on expert skill on the existed, "SP-Designed" maps.

First of all: I want to say that this is an amazing thing you've brought to us and I (we all) have to thank you for all your great work, that you've done so far.
Thief 2 Multiplayer was something, that the developers never finished, and if you would not have done such a great job, we all would not be able to face this throughout new expirience (and of course a lot of fun).

Second: A friend of mine and myself, we did play through the official Thief 2 campaign (as far as we were able to), and we did send you many bug reports and some of our crash files with related infos with the form at (

Did you receive these (we hope they could help out a little) or is this site completely outdated, as you didn't even update the news for the new patch?
Third: As you presented an open source version lately, does this mean that you are no longer able to do code bug fixing by yourself?

Do you work on the next Thief-MP-Release?
Just 1 ask: There are many FM Missions, where the player hasn't got blackjack and sword at the start, because he must find them during the game. It's ok, but in this way only 1 player will have these weapons and it's not good in MP. So, it would be great if every player can pickup these 2 weapons, but it needs a little code-modifying. Can you make it?

So one gets the sword for tough enemies, the other gets the blackjack for a sneaky tidy up, and the rest scouts the map.
Besides, as it is very quiet in this thread, I don't believe there will be any full (non-beta) release, until TOS gets some people to aid him. :tsktsk:

If you enable cheats in the server settings, you could simply write "/s sword" or "/s blackjack" to spawn the desired weapon at the player's position.

Has anyone thought about making a list of FMs that work or do not work in Multiplayer? Is there such a thing already, and I'm not seeing it?

We played almost the full T2X (in zipped form like in other FM) and tested Seven Sisters. Thanks for these console commands, because in Seven Sisters we need this cheat. Next time we will try the "When Still" campaign, which has very-very-very large and detailed maps.
Don't try to play with the Dracula and Bathory campaign in coop. Before the latest release we tested these missions in coop, but the many new scripts and custom things caused bugs. In Single Player is OK.
I recommend to download and install some FM, and when you start a MP game you can check the available maps in the create server window. if you cannot see any map name in the list, it means you can't play that map in MP. (because you cannot start)
