My model is Acer Aspire One 751.
VERY limited abilities of video settings. I haven't changed drivers. Yes, it shows fog, but it is too slow to play. Good for editing, though.
I know it has weak CPU (Intel Atom Z520 1.3 GHz), but it seems to me there is another reason of low FPS in Thief - its videocard (Intel GMA 500). Does fog worth extremely low FPS? I'm not sure, but it fits my goals.

Which ddfix? (Did you even need a ddfix?)

I tried both - with and without ddfix (1.3). All the same. But ddfix demands 800x600 resolution at least, so I stay on 640x480 to use less resources.

No in my book, the GMA has 50% the power of the GMA900 chipset..

I have now changed to Windows 7. Still the same fog bug as in Vista: it appears at the first start, then it vanishes after reading a scroll or going into the main menu.
I am using Catalyst 9.10 (HD 4850) and ddfix.

no surprise-a 3dfx voodoo1 can wipe all corners with the gma500 and smoke a cigar at the same time,when it comes to speed.yeah,gma500 is really that slow-it was meant for cellphones,thats why..software rendering should be a bit faster.
