T2: So, fog is broken again. *sigh* - by EvaUnit02

So today I finally got myself around reverting to some old ATI drivers (note that I am talking about Vista 32 bit). Now I am sure the one-time exit fog issue doesn't get fixed with Catalyst 8.9, 9.3, 9.9, 9.10 and 9.11. Maybe it can with older drivers, but somehow I doubt it. It's starting to smell like some weird Direct3D thing as some people have full-time fog and its not of the drivers.

I just didn't believe you expect me to to try out all those versions! Do you think that if 8.9, 9.3, 9.9, 9.10 and 9.11 don't work, any of 9.2, 9.4, 9.5, 9.6, 9.7, 9.8 will?
No worries Bikerdude, I'm not jumping at you :) If you believe that any of those drivers can fix the issue then you must have a point. I may try out more drivers tomorrow or later.

No probs, I just know from experience that something can get broken/fixed from one driver to the net..

I can assure you, that Ati Radeon 5870 support fog.
Will an ATI 4870X2 work right and support fog?
Has anyone used the built in XP of win7 for Thief? Would using the built in XP of win7 solve all these problems?

Yes, but you will have to run it in single GPU mode and the WinXp mode in Win7 is worse than useless and doesnt have a hope in hell of running thief or any other game period.

Mmmmmmmmm ....
So Thief will run in regular XP but not the XP in win7. Weird. I thought the XP in win7 was just as good as the real thing from all the win7 reviews I've seen. :tsktsk:
