BETA VERSION AVAILABLE
I'm now putting this into Beta. There is a new version of DDFix here:
(
http://sio2.g0dsoft.com/ddfix_1.4.4_beta.zip) http://sio2.g0dsoft.com/ddfix_1.4.4_beta.zip
Changes from 1.4.3 Alpha
1. Now has a full calculation of the fog-friendly projection matrix
2. Fixed anisotropic filtering - it wasn't set for the second texture stage, only the first.

Si02, just wanted to say thanks for the time and effort you put into this fix...this is a momentous achievement!

These beta's are comin out fast!
But considering that you've already done so many good things for me, king supreme the community, I'd hate for this to be a relapse.

I second that.

This could be a stupid question, but is there any reason for me to use this version of ddfix over my current one? I've got an ATI Radeon HD 4650, and I get fog with my current version of ddfix. Only issue I'm getting is the game is laggy in certain areas. (I know, it's weird having a really fast computer and yet thief 2 runs bad in places!:weird:)

If you have fog already and no other major issues, I'd not update.

Heh, well, it seems so far that my game works. We all agree there's been some major ground broken. Did clearing ever solve his problem?

Thanks so much, SiO2! I had given up hope of ever finding a fix for a laptop card. I've been without fog for about 5 years now and I have such a big grin on my face at the moment it's unbelievable.
:cheeky: <- Doesn't do it justice. I'm over the moon. My deepest thanks for the time and effort you've put into this!

Timeslip talked about reintroducing the setting for windowed mode, but never got around to actually doing it, so my only question is if you have done it?
I have found windowed mode to be very useful when switching between edit mode and game mode in DromEd, because the switching is a lot quicker than in fullscreen mode.
Right now I'm using an old version of ddfix (with windowed mode, but ugly sky) for DromEd and a newer version (with fullscreen mode only, but nice sky) for Thief2.exe. Getting back windowed mode (and being able to use one version for everything) is my only reason to upgrade (at least until I upgrade my hardware).
Either way, thanks for continuing Timeslip's work!

...or try D3DWindower:
Quote:
Download the (
http://files.filefront.com/D3DWindower+English/;13838785;/fileinfo.html) D3DWindower, configure it to run your editor in windowed mode and keep it running.
To add a new game to the D3DWindower, press the '+' button on the toolbar and select the executable for the game to add. To activate the tool, press the blue 'play' button on the toolbar. You need to keep the program running for it to remain in effect.
If Thief / SS2's game mode is configured to use the same resolution as your desktop, then it will be exactly the same as running it fullscreen, but it will solve the minimisation issue.
Note that the D3DWindower was originally in Japanese and, while most of the important labels have been translated into English, some are still in Japanese.
