Actually,
I don't think the "kids" room is really a kids room either. I think it belongs to Riley Hansen, the crazy old guy who made all the traps in old town.:cheeky:
I didn't want to say anything but Tannar is quite right.
It's a room taken over by a crazy old man who puts explosives in teddy bears.

Think Bonehoard. Do not pass directly in front of them. Zigzag around them until you reach the prize. Also there is a slight barrier rising up from each one's line of sight. If you touch this barrier the trap will go off. I hope that helps.*insert a "sobbing pitifully" smiley* Oh no, I don't think I'll be able to finish this if that's the case! That part of the bonehoard was one of the worst parts of Thief for me---I couldn't go through it without first carefully studying a drawn diagram of how to get through that area--it was just too nerve-wracking.
And this place with the hanged keepers is even scarier!!There's something about these kinds of puzzles that just makes me completely unable to take a risk. I really don't know if I'll be able to do this. This is a pretty awesome FM, though, from what I've been able to play so far.
Ok, Garrett, it's been real but maybe we should, ah. . just listen to Drucius and go home. It's not like we haven't fulfilled the loot requirement.:tsktsk:

Major confusion here. After wandering on tiptoes for an hour or so I am faced with a wooden barrier. Burned it down with the flare gun, or whatever it is, and now I'm blocked by a wall of fire that kills me with one touch.
I scanned the thread, and read about a hidden entrance, a skeleton holding a key to the weapons shop, and some crate hanging on chains, all related in some way to the building across the street from the bird statue on Laminum street.
I pushed the barrel over to the only thing I can see there, a slanted roof I can climb by getting on the barrel. Once up there it goes nowhere. Can't get up the roof on the right, can't get over the balcony (and the door appears to be unfrobable anyways). I want in the weapons shop, and I want to continue the mission. Major clarification please? No hints please, spoil me, I've read the hints to Bukary already.
On the plus side, the choppiness I was experiencing at the beginning is completely gone. Very odd as I'm only playing on an AMD 1.9 ghz with a Geforce Fx 5200. Can't imagine why people with better specs are getting a slideshow.

Water arrows

Thank you for the quick answer Fibanocci.
Hmm, if that's the solution to that, that's rat ass, seeing as how I only found one, and used it on a torch. I'll have to go back to a previous save if that's the answer to that. Not that it matters all that much seeing as how now I know I can just breeze through the first half of the city.
Still want to know about the rest.

There are other water arrows in the mission. You'll find two in the water trough across from the bird statue, for example. But there is another entrance into old town also so you don't need to waste a water arrow there. Just to the left of the entrance to the passage which leads to old town and that wooden blockade you burned, there is an opening in the wall hidden by vines.

Thank you Tannar. See the crate now too. Now about this skeleton with a key...

Tried that before Clearing, guess I didn't try hard enough, heh. Got it now. :thumb:
Thank you, all three of you :)
Back to uncharted territory, and being on edge again it would seem.
