having finished with full loot and all visible enemies down [...] the final statistic says: "innocents killed: none, and others killed: 67".:weird: It seems a bit overstated, I surely did not kill more than 25-28 altogether

The extra body count (67) appeared on Expert level and was replicable at least twice.
Confirmed. I have played the FPS fixed version on Expert up to
just after going below the mountain and had one kill even before I met anyone. The first "hunchback monster" killed raised the body count to 4, the second to 9. I could not replicate the problem on other difficulty levels or when playing the first version of "Eclipsed" on Expert. Apparently, it's happening on Expert difficulty level with the patched version only.

So you can also get up to the wooden fort. I was not sure because a lot of areas that looked climbable in the mission weren't due to invisible walls.
I finally reached the fort as well by
climbing the palisades to the north of it. I did this at the northeastern tip of the palisades, where a torch is built into the wooden walls. If one tries to mantle up the wooden wall to the left of that torch, one fails on the second "step". However, by stacking two crates before this wooden wall's second "step", and to the left of the torch, I was able to climb the crates and then run or jump onto the palisades. After that, I just walked on top of the palisades towards the west and arrived at the wooden platform before one of the entrances to the "fort".
It turned out that there actually is no fort. The two entrances, one visible when looking east from the swamp located to the west of the fort, and the other visible when standing before the "Welcome to Port Aerinth" sign and looking towards the right (west), are actually one and the same. From up there one can see that the "fort" is just a T-shaped set of wooden walls with an archway placed in the vertical line of the T.
And if you walk from the wooden platform towards the town entrance, the game crashes shortly after going through the archway anyway. So much for the fort up there.

I still have a few problems with [the story], though, like why
the north gate is locked and guarded by a creature after you get back from the mountain. Wouldn't the creatures be wanting to escape that way? What you call the north gate seems to be the small opening leading into Port Aerinth, with the "Welcome to Port Aerinth" sign to the left of it, and just outside the main entrance to Quintus' tavern. I think
the guard there really makes no sense, especially since it is looking away from the iron gate closing the entrance to the town. If the creature was there to check whether the iron gate would open again for some reason, its presence would be logical, but then it would rather be looking towards the gate, not away from it.
And I don't have an explanation for the closed iron gate either. I believe the gate closes because the storyline depends on the player going through the nearby west gate instead of just backtracking to the house where Garrett began his adventure. Some kind of landslide or other natural disaster would have served better, I think.

Also,
why weren't [the enemies] in the town already when Garrett showes up? What were they doing hanging around the mountain?Having a party, of course.:cheeky: Even the undead want to have some fun sometimes, you know.

In various readables, some of the characters are referred to as "brother," such as Brother Vorenthius, etc, but I'm a little unclear as to who exactly they are. Are they Keepers? Hammerites?
Quote Posted by Tannar
Vorenthius is an ex-Keeper. One or more of the notes refer to other Keepers that are the ones that tried to stop the spread of the creatures by closing and sealing the gates to Port Aerinth.
I now believe that Vorenthius
currently is a Hammerite, and a former Keeper, and not an ex-Hammerite as I wrote somewhere earlier in this thread. The readable describing this is located
below the mountain, near a dead body (Brother Thesalis, apparently a Keeper) and a hole in the wall, pointing skyward, where you can hear the wind blowing. In Vorenthius' house, there are lots of hints pointing to his life as a Hammerite, e.g., the Hammer banners and the large hammer lying before his bed.
Marcus Reign seems to be a Hammerite as well, judging from a readable that seems to be his "last entry" (according to the first line of it). I forgot where that readable was.
Reign, a Hammerite, as well as Keeper Thesalis, call the ones of their kin "brothers". I think it really is a bit misleading. I do not remember the Keepers addressing themselves as "brother" anywhere in Thief 1-3, either.
But, really, there have been larger plot holes in fan mission history than the small ones in "Eclipsed".;)

Hi all :)
I'm playing this mission, but:
1) Do not know what opens the door clothes in the room with the red curtain (Hammer), I hear noise but I do not see anything.
2) I can not find the key to the safe over the bed in the tower clock.
I would very detailed answers, not just clues. I'm shooting for 6 hours! My eyes hurt!
Sorry for English weird, I'm Italian and I translated with google.
Thanks:)
Happy new year ! ;)

2) I can not find the key to the safe over the bed in the tower clock. You will find that
key in City Electric, in the control room, on the floor.

@ Tannar : The Hammer home linked at clock tower...in the room near a bed room...
Obviously I did not understand what the city electricity.
However I must interrupt the mission for a few days, I hurt my eyes! Thanks
:)

I think you are referring to the closet with the coat hanger which is frobbable. That opens a trap door to the attic and lowers a ladder. Go back to the main room and you will see it.
City Electric is the power station in Old Town. It is at the end of the street and there is a sign which says "City Electric". In a control room in that building you will find the safe key on the floor.

Ok, found the key!
All solved;)

Well, I've finished this mission. It's the first I've played in weeks, maybe months. Took me two afternoons and a few visits to this thread, struggling to find loot, the key to the weapon store and access to Old Town. I like how the mission felt a bit like the Cradle, building on suspense rather than AI to scare. I also agree to some degree with other people's opinions about the ending.
Now, what should I play now...

I finally got round to playing this after avoiding it for several months - I am a real coward and easily frightened...:erm:
What a mission, what an experience, thanks for this. It is a masterpiece. I was playing on my laptop with the blankets over my head until I figured out that the demons could be ko'd... then I went on a rampage
You are up there with the cream of FM creators.

I had this mission in stand by, but now i had the time to finish it, and i must say i loved this mission, this is a fine job, beautifull design, an amazing atmosphere, good ambient sounds and musics, excellent gameplay and a captivating storyline despite of its evil ending :laff:. this is a very good mission, well done :thumb:
I hope to play more missions of you ;)
