Wonderful mission. I'm so very scared, that I can't even play it at night.
Beautiful work designing Aerinth, and the horror content with suspense and the increasing sense of dread is absolutely brilliant.
I seem to have one serious problem with the AI: When I manage to knock out/kill the demons, they stay alive on the floor and moan when I approach - much like the zombies. When returning to one, it had stood up and was blocking a corridor making it impassable for me.
Thanks for a great experience.

Thank you all for the kind responses :)
As for the AI
that should just be the runners right? The big guys. They would stop their patrol after a KO, since they have zombie properties. It was a problem I had never fully corrected.

these big badasses, at least in the caves below the mountain. They could do more than just stand up and block my way.
So, rest in pieces, zombie-sucker!:ebil:

Oh my. What have I gotten myself into? I dare not read too many of these posts for fear of spoilage, but from what I've read, and seen in the mission so far, I could be in for a good time. This is one the best creepy missions I've ever seen, and beautifully made, too.

Just worked up the balls to see this one to the end. The sneaking in the mountain pass area was some of the most tense I've ever experienced in Thief. I was seriously sweating!
Excellent work, HipBreaker.
When can we expect the continuation when Garrett must try to contain this invasion?

Hehe, I remember this as one of the most frustrating missions ever. It beat fear to a pulp, actuallly. But now when I think of if I replayed, I'd maybe be scared instead of frustrated instead. :)

I was only ever scared in the mountain pass area.
I did have to look here for assistance getting the relic guarded by the magical barrier.
Overall I found the mission to be very enjoyable, though.
It was clever to tell the player about hidden enemies early on. It really gave a startling sense of dread and unease throughout exploration of the town.
I expected to suddenly begin losing health around every corner!

Ok, I just got back to playing this. I went into the underground Keeper catacombs, got the 3 plants, killed a bunch of undead, and took the portal back into town. All my objectives are done, all I need is to leave, but the way I came in is blocked (and I'm being stalked by 2 huge zombie beasts ). The only way I can see out is through the south gate, but I can't find the key. Anyone know where I can get it?

The South gate key is hidden in
a barred section of the town. To be more specific, it's
in Old Town. There are two ways to enter that part of town.Your first option is
to remove the barriers,, the second one is to find
a hidden entrance on the large plaza just before the entrance to Old Town.I do not remember where exactly the key is located, but I believe it's
either in the building with all the explosive traps, or deep down in the City Electric station at the far end of Old Town. The way to leave town is
indeed a gate, although I'm not sure about the name anymore. Anyway, it's the one
with a huge beast patrolling before it, close to a tavern's front door. These directions should set you back on the right track. If you need more help, ask again, or see whether you're lucky with the search engine here. In theory, both approaches should work.;)

Thanks, I solved that one :thumb:
