Just finished this again. Spookiest mission I've played! Knocked the socks off of me with trepidation. The mountain saga was 'monstrous', but I completed it, too. This had one giant map..and mostly in very dim light.

Finished it today, took me a little over two hours total.
I loved it. There were several points where I was too scared, and took a break from the game. the first time you see the monster in the mountains was terrifying. Come to think of it, i didn't even explore the secondary area behind the barrel
I'd like to see a sequel where Garrett searches for a way to shut down the portals forever.

First, let me make sure I'm on the right mission: starts next to pond with a croaking frog and a water arrow in the pond?
I don't know if I'm being super obtuse or just clumsy, but I just can't get in the door! Looks like the only way forwards, it's wide open a jump away from the rock ... but I can't make the jump :confused:. Can't see anything else to do here, nothing else is frobbable, breakable or climbable.
Beautiful looking mission, very much want to try it. I can just lean in and grab the arrows but they're not rope as I'd hoped.

Well it's a window I think and yes that is the way to go. It's tricky but completely doable. If you really can't manage it, then send me a save game and I'll get you inside.

Yes, it's a window. Damn: "completely doable"? I spent half an hour trying. Can you describe exactly how, and I'll try and do it, otherwise I'll gratefully (with shame) take you up on your offer ... no point in sending you a save game, the only state to save is taking that one water arrow.

In truth, I've no idea what was different. I went round and round and round and round and round and round, running and pressing space and trying different trajectories and trying to press space at different times ... I seriously hope there's not more of this.
Am I really missing something so basic? I've been playing this game (on and off) for over a decade now, but I've never had something so basic be so hard before. If it weren't a mission with such a high reputation I'd just dismiss it.

Don't worry, you're not the only one to have trouble getting in that window. I think most people did. When nickie said "completely doable" I'm certain that she in no way meant "easy". :cheeky: It can be pretty tricky. You just have to find the right spot but once you've done it a few times you can pretty much always do it after that. At least, that was my experience.

I didn't mean easy. Perhaps possible would have been a better word. But as Tannar says, once you've found the right spot it does become relatively easy. I had similar trouble in another mission with mantling a ledge once and very nearly gave up on that. But again, once I'd found the right place it was fairly easy.
