In order to get it work on your machine:
1. install the FM using DarkLoader/GarrettLoader
2. go to you Thief 2 directory, open up the Movies folder
3. locate the movies shipped with the FM:
b38.avi
Credits.avi
cs33.avi
cs38.avi
Intro.avi
4. either delete them from this folder or move them somewhere else and watch them using whatever mediaplayer is available to you

Thank you very much intruder, but still one tiny question: I can delete the movies from Thief 2, but why the Darkloader says it is a Thief 1 FM? (He shows the Trickster's symbol instead of the gear.) SHould DL do that or is this a disguised Thief 2 FM?

That is some kind of bug which is connected to Darkloader somehow. For some reason, DL has mis-identified the mission as a T1 mission and written down this false information into the Darkloader.ini file.
I have three entries in my Darkloader.ini file which are connected to the
Flying Age mission:
Code:
[Thief_-_TheFlyingAge_-_T2FM.61680617]
type=2
misdate=39521
books=95
meshes=18
movies=5
objects=572
sounds=67
textures=70
title="Abominable Flying machines"
date=39522
[Thief-TheFlyingAge_v1.17.61673188]
type=2
misdate=39523
books=95
meshes=18
movies=5
objects=572
sounds=67
textures=70
title="Abominable Flying machines"
date=39526
[FlyingAgev1_18.61674116]
type=0
The first two entries are from two different versions of the mission. I think that the lines
type=2 tell Darkloader that this is a T2 mission. However, I don't know what the third entry (with
type=0) means and why it appears in the .ini file - I think it's probably a bug.
Anyway... open your Darkloader.ini file (it's in the Darkloader folder/directory), find the text string "FlyingAge" and check whether
type=1 can be found among the lines below. If that is the case, change the "1" to "2" and try again.
If it does not work, change "2" back to "1" for this mission, copy your Darkloader.ini to a safe place (as a backup - yes, we're going to try something
dangerous now!:ebil:), then open the Darkloader.ini file in the Darkloader directory, find the text string "FlyingAge", and then delete the complete entry (meaning, all the lines below the one with "FlyingAge" in it, until you encounter a blank line).
Then, start Darkloader again and see whether it detects the mission correctly now.

The first thing worked. Thank you very much!
EDIT: And I can play the mission now. Hurray!

I just finished your fantastic campaign :D
Your campaign is full of surprises, I had lot of good moments with it and the story line is fascinating.
To build an airplane (amongst other things) was very funny and I loved the flying technique. It was very ... vertiginous.
The originality and the creativity in yours missions are very impressive.
And more... I had a true pleasure to track Dr. Zeppelinger :ebil:
Thank you Sterlino :D

How the hell I
escape from the prison?? I've found the keys in my jail, and get rid of the two guardsFunny thing: guard getting angry with an already interned prisoner:

It's the same old bug. It happens also in a Thief 3 mission, I don't remember the title.

That's sort of amusing. :laff:
That actually didn't happen to me, how did you wake the guard? The key is to not alert him, sneak out of your cell going left to the equipment storage window, get your blackjack and whatever else you can reach, sneak back and KO the guard. Whether or not you KO the prisoner is up to you.
massimilianogoi on 1/7/2009 at 02:54
And when I KO the guard, the level finishes? Or what I have to do more to escape?
