Evenin'
Does someone know how you can turn off the background music when looking at maps or reading a book ? I know how to set the game not to pause but it´s annoying hearing two background/ambient sounds mixed upon each other or respectively hearing a special music when reading a book at all .
Thanks...

There should only be a quiet glowing sound when you read maps etc. Does your background music continue to play...? :weird:

yes, it´s possible to let the game continue while you read books/maps. you then do not see the black background "behind" books/maps but the game and all continues which is more realistic. but also the background sounds including ambient continues which results in the map/book background sound mixes with the ambient sound of the game which is quite annoying.

You are experiencing strange bugs, there. First the swinging hammer pendulums in the Clocktower, now this. Has reading the texts been like this for you all along?

In this case this is not a bug. You can alter some file settings of T3 to let the game continue in the book/map reading mode. It adds more realism to the game. BUT I do not know how to turn off the background sounds when reading books (which is okay if the game stops and you only see the black/foggy?-I forgot how it is original- background, but if the game continues WHILE you read the book [again I do want that and I set it so] then this sound mixes with the game sounds)
So again, does anybody know how to turn off (surely also in the files) the extra background sounds in map/book reading mode ?

I don't mean to be annoying. I haven't heard of this. Sorry. In my ignorance it makes sense that if the game is running in the background, the sounds will play, too. Where'd you find out how to do that?
If you achieved this by tweaking a game file, and not by choosing an option in a game menu, this is the wrong forum. You need to go (

@jtr7: The sounds of the game should indeed continue, what I don´t want to hear is the normal ambient music/sound/noise you hear when reading books/maps (because then this sound drowns out the game sounds which continue)....now totally confused ? ;) but thanks for the link, did not know that there´s a special forum for that.
Could some of the moderators move the thread there please...

Oh, I'm not confused about that at all. All the sounds are triggered when they are told to, so I'm not surprised they all play. Turning the one trigger off, or dropping the volume to nill when you choose to look read a book, etc., and then having it go back to normal when you switch back to play-mode, will require some work, methinks. I was trying to determine whether or not you knew the game was doing what it was made to do, or if you expected the sound to shut off and thought something wasn't working right, or if you simply wanted an additional feature added to the tweak.:) In short, any confusion on my part came from not knowing your mindset. No worries.:cheeky:
Has CrackedGear made a determination about it, yet?
