Yes, definitely the best of C6. Took me forever (and a visit here) to realise the keys were in my inventory. Never thought of that. This was also the only one where I was able to get all the loot. Must try the
undead infighting
trick above sometime.

pwl,
Read a scroll near one of the beds in the room where jammed portcullis to lower vault is located (AFAIR, there are two beds and two scrolls in that room), one of them is relatively hard to see. You'll find some useful info for your problem there.
I must either be blind or dumb.
But I cannot locate the second key to open the gate. Thek key on the shelf in the upper room was the first thing I found. There are only two crates, nothing mysterious about them. Even hack slashed them, nothing happend.
I've read everything a zillion times, looked in every corner a billion times. I have even cheated by turning the gamma up so I can see every little pixel lol..
What the heck am I missing?!

Time for some explicit spoilerage for those who are stuck in the first part:
In the first part of the lower level (with the broken tombs), approach the writing desk and chest against the wall. Climb up over the rail on your right and you'll be in one of the sleeping areas. There's a readable and a small box (mentioned in the texts). Creep right into the dark corner and you'll find a frobbable switch...
Thanks GlasWolf!
Incredible, I don't know how many times I searched that area!
I've tried everything to get these damn keys to work. I used the default "use" key of "I" and also mapped it to my center mouse button. I get a click and gasp from Garrett, like he's tossing a flashbomb, but the doors don't unlock. The sound effect tells me I'm doing the right thing, but should I have some kind of special system file to get this nutty key system to work?
Cool mission, but I'm at the end of my rope with this key thing.
GlasWolf on 5/11/2005 at 08:18
Slither, you're doing the right thing but it's not the correct key. One of the outstanding problems with the key system is that the guys haven't worked out how to replace the flashbomb noise you describe. If the lock had "clicked" to indicate the wrong key (as in T1/T2) then the problem wouldn't arise.

Hmmm. I found two keys:
The one near the sleeping zombie (marked "Lucas' Key," I believe)
on the storage closet. I tried the other one, too -- even though I'm sure that one is wrong. So, I have two keys and tried 'em both. Many times. From what I've been reading in the thread, two is what I should have at this point (outside the storage closet).

If a door won't open, it means you just have a wrong key.
What door you're trying it on? Did you find the key on the shelf in the first room(upstairs)?
If you mean the door in the lower crypt near storage closet (the mortuary door) it won't open from that side, you need to find alternative way to other side.
