I don't think Savar understands the problem. Can anyone else try to fix it? I would try if I knew dromed, but unfortunately I am a noob. :idea:

Trying my best to diagnose this from a black box perspective.
The english text data IS THERE. Its in $T3$\CONTENT\T3\BOOKS\ENGLISH\*. The text for menus, inventory labels, and other misc. data are in the String_Tags\ subdirectory off this path. Books and readables seem to be in the base path. Browsing the files in String_Tags confirms that english text data is there (along w/other languages). I have verified that the T3 executable is actually reading these files (using FileExplorer from SysInternals).
So while it does seem to be locating the proper data files, it is not showing any text during gameplay. Font problem? Some other internal error?
Of course any one of these files could be corrupt in some way, causing a silent failure somewhere in T3 logic that results in these empty buttons/text tags.

OK, I figured it out and it was a font issue. Turns out 2 font "image maps" were not placed in the proper directory.
I'm sure Savar will stumble onto this, but for those who don't want to wait for the new release, here is the quick fix to get things working.
NOTE: %T3% stands for whatever your Thief 3 base directory is.

The fix is easy. With the BlueRose mission installed, simply copy these files:
%T3%\CONTENT\T3\PCTextures\Fonts\Papyrus_21.dds
%T3%\CONTENT\T3\PCTextures\Fonts\VTCGoblinHand_18.dds
TO the directory:
%T3%\CONTENT\T3\PCTextures\DynamicallyLoaded\

That's it! The texts should start displaying correctly now.

Hmmm. Not sure. I am playing on hard and I see all the Objectives, Notes, and Restrictions listed fine. I am talking about DURING the mission play, not the briefing stage.
