T3 Mission: Evicted Feb. 15/06 - by nomad of the pacific

I'm glad you were able to finish, at least. The place where the sewer ladder led you was the place I was talking about, but there are two other ways out of there. On your way there did you find another piece of loot?
Without knowing what loot you found, I have no idea what you missed. Anyhow, I hope you enjoyed the mission. I'm off to work on the sequel. :cheeky:

Nomad, Thank you, for a wonderfully done adventure!
(And your map was an excellent guide to your new town.) :thumb:
PS, I finally copied-down and studied all of the messages, here.
And then I took a look inside your Evicted.zip, my only version of it, that could have used that very needed "1.1" indicator?. And there it was, with a little date guess-work, all updated and changed for your newer version.
But I still had to use UglyEd's idea of installing another "working" T3-FM and re-installing yours, to fix the matter. And then your mission ran fine and I really enjoyed it! :cheeky:

*** (T3 dream-mode On) "Click" *** :cheeky:
Tonight, I restarted your adventure, again, for a different sort of "mission" using the Easy mode, to hopefully help things along and maybe help to "keep the peace"?
Because I wanted to see if T3 could be enjoyed like a "normal" RPG, a bit.
You know, just walk about, completely unarmed and unthreatening, to simply act like one of the citizens from your new T3 town, Nomad.
Ps, what's your town's name? ("Evictus" sounds amusing enough, to me.) :thumb:
So, I stealthed into the Park and then proceeded to have Garrett "fit in".
And everything was great, your folks were talking and saying Hello to Garrett, but then one of those still-aggressive City Guards "disturbed the peace".
Oh well. :erm:
Now for the "big question", can one design City guards to be less aggressive?
Or can they be set to attack-mode only when Garrett does something wrong?
And could citizens be set to a panic-mode, if Garrett pulls a weapon or again, when he does something wrong that would definitely set the guards against him?
(Sorry, I am involved with another UnReal-based game, where this is "standard reality" stuff and considered a norm for all of their adventures.)
*** (T3 dream-mode Off) "clunk" *** (And presuming your answer.) :tsktsk:

Brilliant, good old school theifery :thumb:
got a little frustrated finding the loot but I've got all the special items, ticked off all the objectives on expert and I've got 91% loot, I've hunted high and low for the other 9% but can't find it anywhere, I've even resorted to KO'ing every npc (except cats and rats) just so I can take my time and look, impressive number of npc's I must say and they did make life difficult
I've found the awkward hidden ones hammer in church rafters, stuff between church roof spaces, the barrel in the grocers shop, one item per floor from the barn and most of the semi obvious stuff ring in sewer, bottles in bar and store room, cup in bar and of course all the pockets that needed picking :ebil:
can you think of anything I might have missed as I have this burning desire to find every last bit
ok so I'm a thief

:thumb: Thanks for this lovely FM nomad of the pacific.
I played it twice mainly because I never saw the lockpicks in the shop and spent all my loot. I love the large open areas and the cathedral - classic gameplay
97% I've now been everywhere & if something can be moved it's been moved I've even been on top of the walls for a stroll
now if I were 3% of the loot where would I hide ... hmmmm
Oh and I still reckon it's a damn fine level :thumb: I'm especially impressed as it's your first, looking forward to the next

Sorry for the late responses. Been working on my next missions! :D
Tiger, Yes, we can make the guards non-aggressive until Garrett does something wrong, just like the guard in his apartment in the OM. Same with the citizens. We can make them freak out at the sight of a drawn weapon or if they catch Garrett burgling.
Sorry, Esme. I don't know where to tell you to look for your last three percent since I don't know everything you got. I wanted to make a loot list, but the tool in Garrettloader wasn't working at the time. I'll be sure to include one with any other FMs I make. I'll also be sure to leave clues for ALL my special loot from now on, too.
Thanks to all for the kind words and encouragement! :)

I'm over it. The first time I played the original version my whole T3 install went south. GL couldn't access any files or restore the original TDS game. I waited for the fix (latest version) took all night to download it (dial up). Had to wipe TDS and Garrettloader and do fresh installs, do the patch.....the whole 9. Now I'm playing the new version and things look better. More gaurds to take out etc... but I'm at the fence shop and the damn lockpicks still aren't available to me! I've got like over 2000 gold so what do I do now? Isn't there a setting somewhere in a file that will just give me the frickin' lockpicks? If someone can send me that file so I can use it just for this game and then quarantine it before I install another FM or restore the original game, I'd appreciate it. I don't understand why I would be one of the few that is still having the lockpick problem. Thanks guys.

Thanks for that info, Nomad.
(BTW, I am kind of relating Thief3 to Postal2, another reality-based game.
And I spent a few minutes trying to relate T3's City Watch with P2's police.)
But our T3 OM history, with a very aggressive City Watch, might just make it next to impossible for players to simply accept them, like the guard at Garrett's apartment? (ie: The average T3 player would still see the same "City Watch" uniform and they would immediately go into some sort of "stealth mode" and then they would either take flight or fight them, quite naturally.)
So over-all, the designer, of this special FM, might have to
very clearly tell all of the players about his new and major T3 reality-changing idea? :thumb:
