Hello, RokingRoger.
About your "getting the lockpicks" problem, this might be one of those rare occassions where "cheating is a necessity" for T3 game-play problems.

(And we need some reports on these "cheats", anyway.) :cheeky:
BTW, are you using an old save-game?

RokingRoger, I'm very sorry to hear that my FM blew up your game install. I hadn't heard of that happening before.
tiger@sound.net had a good point. If you're using an old save, the original bug might still be present. If not, are you able to select the lock picks? What happens when you try to purchase them? Does the fence take your money and leave you empty-handed, or do you have another problem? (That's what the original bug did.)
BTW, where are you in Florida? I used to live there, myself.

Nomad, You're not going to believe this, but first let me say sorry for my rant. I told my wife about this cool T3 FM that I've been trying to play and went through the whole thing with her. She doesn't know anything about computers but when I'd get stumped on certain thief game she'd come in run around and ALWAYS find what I was looking for. :o Anyway I told her this was an issue somewhere in the game files but she wanted to play so I let her. At first she started on my last saved game. She's never played T3 before and was having some difficulty not getting killed so I told her to load a saved game close to the begining where I knew I was in a safe place and she did. Long story short when she got to Marla's the picks WERE THERE!:weird:
I saw that and about fell off the bed!:) After looking into the system folder I noticed my cheaper items (t3gamesys.t3u) which was named t3gamesyscheat.t3u either had been moved or overwritten. I think that file even though it wasn't being used may have caused a conflict in the game. After my wife got the picks the game worked perfectly to the end. Thanks, this was a cool mission:thumb:

Nomad, is there a way to finish the old version of this FM?
I downloaded it a few months back and rather wouldn't want to download 60+Mb again because I have limited traffic. Maybe I could just change some file to fix the lockpicks problem?

Unfortunately, no. I had to rewrite the script for purchasing the lock picks to make it work on other computers, so it can't be patched. (I still don't understand why it worked on mine.) Sorry. :(

242, did you try this little trick to enable your lockpicking ability, yet?

And if you need that small file reloaded then I can re-do that for you, there.

Very nice mission, I like the layout a lot. But unfortunately it crashed twice. Also...
in the guards room on the right (in the church) are three chests. I have no problems picking the first two. But when I finish picking the last, I fall out of the game and I am dead.

I hadn't heard of that glitch, yet. :erg: Sounds like a hole in the BSP. Was it left, middle or right? I'll try to check it out if I can fix my working copy of the game.
As far as the crashes, where did they happen? Anything special going on when it happened? What kind of video/sound card do you have? (etc.)

There are three chests. I picked the locks of the first (that's the left) and the one in the middle without any problems. But as soon as I am done picking to lock of the third (far right), I fall out of the game. So I skipt the chest and moved on.
I don't remember what I did when it crashed the first time. It crashed the second time when I knocked out one of the Hammerite guards (in the little court yard, right in the middle of the bridge). I tried it again and waited a little bit longer (until he was off the bridge) and had no problem.
My system:
Dell XPS - Pentium M - 2.13 GHz - 1 GB Ram - Windows XP Media Center with SP2 - SigmaTel C-Major Audio - Nvidia GeForce Go 6800 Ultra.
I really enjoyed playing it. :thumb:
