Well, you don't have to kill the "crazy woman in the library". I got the loot by
sneaking in the room through the other door (the one which leads to the front door). Put out the candles and the fire with a water arrow, crouch and sneak to the fireplace. She won't even recognize that something has been stolen.
BTW, anyone have a loot list for this mission? (I ended up with something like 96 or 97%.)
Did you find the loot in the
room, where the two guys are snoring? There's some loot under the roof
I remember I picked up three water arrows from the bottom of the fountain. And when I was about to blow out the chimney to pick up the loot above it, I realized I don't have them :(

Sounds like a bug. How about starting over again?

I had to, anyway. I couldn't ghost all the mission the first time :)
So I started from the very start and managed to ghost it! I must say it's a whole new experience, being left with a choice like that. It seemed to be about impossible to sneak past some guards and maidens, but only until you actually tried :)
Captain's table was hardest for me. For some reason he spotted me several times even though it showed I was completely hidden from the light. And it took me a while before I actually dared to simply sneak to the left, into the light spread from one of the windows. I thought now I would make his day! But he didn't make a sound Was very much into misery I suppose :)
Oh, and the FM is very very good! There is no end to the number of thanking threads and posts on these forums, but still I am posting this one more thanks for the work :)

Has anyone else had extreme framerate problems with Silence? Whenever I try to play, I find myself creaking along at about 1 fps. Needless to say, that's unplayable.
Is there some trick I can play to get back up to speed -- literally? I did all the usual stuff: rebooting, closing all the background programs I could, etc.
I've played many other T3 FMs, and I've never had this problem before. (I did have it on one T2 FM, but so did a number of others.)
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Dafydd

I have the same problem with the frame rate. I have never had this problem before and it makes the game unplayable.

Hello all, sorry I was taking a short break from thief.
The water arrow thing is truly bizzare. I can't offer any suggestions on that, sorry.
As for the framerate, I've been told that the worst occurs in front of the manor, which unfortunately is the starting point. I thought I had fixed it but I can always go back and see if I can improve it some more. In the meantime I would suggest checking your graphics settings. I don't know if it does this for anyone else, but any time I load a new FM it resets my graphics and key settings.
In other news, I've started working on the next part, hopefully due out before the end of the year. I'll add some screenshots soon.

I have the same problem with the framerate, it's as you didn't use any zone portals. But I have the same problem with older T3FMs, so it might be the Nvidia drivers problem. One more thing, how did you generate IBT files? With editor version of the T3main.exe , or the Release version? The latter gives better results, less bugs and better framerate, and that might be the case.

Ok, now I know what caused the problem. If you have your Core 2 Duo CPU overclocked, you'll get a major performance drop in TDS, I don't know why. I thought the map was poorly optimized, but I got the same poor framerate in my FM in progress, showing stable 75 fps a few days ago. After restoring original values everything went back to normal. Maybe that's your problem too, Daffyd?
Now where's this cursed key :ebil:
