Anyone else with crashy T3? Am I the only one with this problem?
I'll be playing 5th regular mission today - wonder if it crashes, too.

I haven't played T3 in quite some time, but I did play some FM's on it a while back. Hmmm, looking at my save game file dates, that was back In Jan 07.
I don't recall getting any crashes then, playing The Bridge, and probably one or two tohers.
And I don't recall it ever crashing when I played the original game; way back when.

yes, it already did crash 1 time in 5th mission (haven't finished yet). So far, the most crashy game I've ever played. Imagine Quake crashing once or more on every level...

Have you tried playing without Fraps running to rule that out, since most other people probably don't do that?

Might be the actual game CD/DVD itself that is stuffing up. I vaguely remember people having problems with installing faulty DVDs. Have you tried running the game on another system?

i too haven't experienced a crashy T3. Maybe once or twice throught the whole game.
Too bad we couldn't Blackbox it; anyone know of any freeware/opensource blackboxing software?

Hiatus, I have been having the same problem (posted elsewhere). Was interesting to read the above post about it possibly being a dodgy CD/DVD, as it appears my LiteOn DVD writter is on its way out anyway (reports read errors on disks my other computer doesn't) but I've had the unstability problem on both my systems:
AMD Athlon64x2 4200+ Sempron64 2800+
Asus M2V (Via chipset) Winfast NF4K8AB (Nforce 4)
1Gb DDR2 1Gb DDR2
GeForce 6600GT GeForce 6600LE (silent fan-less)
Onboard sound Cheapo CMI based PCI sound card
160Gb SATA-II Maxtor 80Gb SATA-I Maxtor
WinXP Media Centre 2005 WinXP Pro
LiteOn Multi-format DVDRW NEC DVDRom
Both systems are 100% up-to-date with drivers/Windows updates.
The version of T3DS I have is from the PC Gamer Mastertronic budget series so didn't include/need a CD key (so unfortunatley can't just dl a working copy over Steam!) and came with v1.1 pre-patched.
As a matter of interest I tried T3DS on a fresh install of WinXP Pro last night to rule out background processes, but it still crashes. :(
Anyone know if it would make a difference if I used a no-cd crack? don't want to risk viruses and all that by using one if it wont help!

I just read somewhere that Thief games have issues with DualCore CPU's... apparently theres a way to fix it by setting "the affinity of iexplore.exe to 1 core in task manager" or something ( :weird: ). Anyone know what that means or how to do it? I've always loved playing the thief games and I'd love to carry on and reach "The Cradle" that I've read so much about, just makes me turn it off and play something like FarCry instead when it keeps crashing though...:tsktsk:
