I never had such a hard time finding key dumb waiter floor twoin all my time playing Thief ;)
The fire key archway puzzle was so different for Thief, I had to use a spoiler to figure it out.
The mission frame rate was excellent in my case. I hope you make more missions Namelessvoice. I loved it

Thank you very much, Nameless Voice! I have installed the patch, but now every time I enter the room with the four mages, they kill me as they see me. :tsktsk:

It's possible (though very difficult) to ghost that room.

Sorry, I didn't tell you that I have completed all the objectives. I enter the room with the four mages, but as I try to put the diary on the table they kill me..

Many thanks to jiansonz for the tip! I tried that before, but with the wrong piece of equipment - doh!
Got all the way to the end, tons of loot, found secrets, and can't finish. The mage wouldn't take my keys, so I used them myself and got the goods - but he still won't pay any attention to me. I clocked him once out of frustration. He doesn't even blink. And I did what I needed to do to expose him to the other mages, but nothing came of that, either.
I guess I need the patch. Which means starting over. Normally that would really bug me, and I wouldn't bother. But I liked this level so much, I'm going to give it a rest for a few weeks, install the patch and have another go.
I think the building of this thing was brilliant! I wanted to try and use objects as cave walls in a mission to rid myself of the scene complexity errors when too many irregular surfaces overlapped (I hate square caves). But the contest wasn't allowing any custom stuff, so pffft went that idea.
Might it have worked?

Redleaf: You don't need to restart to use the patch. It's a gamesys-only patch.

Go back to confront him. If nothing happens, make sure you're using the patch.
