The shoes aren't modern. Actually they are knee-high metal-covered boots but because she wears her trousers lazily oer them you can't see the boots completely. The chestrig is actually a medievalized leather version of a tactical modular weight bearing system where you can put pockets and gun holsters in the modern variant.
I always mix and match medieval and modern stuff when drawing Thiefy stuff because I've always liked the way the Thief world has taken stuff from different time periods. I always try to take modern clothes and equipment and apply them to medieval steampunk styles.
