So darkhooks.dlx is OK to be deleted as everything it contained is included in script.osm itself, and the link above contains even newer versions of those scripts. Much thanks!

to make it short, just DON'T do one thing - install the game and them patch it immediately. either run it at least once before patching, or copy the T2 folder out of steam and patch that copy, and play it outside steam if you want to be extra safe.
Missed this post originally. great to know there's no need to play outside of steam. I like the steam hour counter feature :)
thx voodoo47 and Dj Riff for the explanations.

Just installed taffer patcher onto the steam default installation folder after running the game once.
How can I check if it's been installed correctly?
edit:
all seems to be ok, as the new resolutions and sound options appeared, and mission fixes paths mentioned on last page as well.

Started with a fresh clean install of T2 in Steam.
Launched T2 and setup controls, launched first mission and saved the game at Basso's instructions.
Then installed Tafferpatcher 2.16...it went well.
Now, when I play T2 all of my opened doors are black...i can walk through the blackness and I appear in the room.
Turn around and the door is black.
Have any of you guys seen this bug?!

it's expected behavior when using old saves. NOT doing that will, unsurprisingly, avoid the issue.

starting the game once simply means starting the game, and pressing quit. no need to set up anything or starting a mission before installing tafferpatcher.
I just finished the game via steam today, with tafferpatcher, had no issues.

I loaded NewDark 1.23 and in the notes it says one of the new commands is "synch_to_playcam" which will place the editor cam in Dromed where ever you are in-game mode. I entered the command and it does not seem to work.
Anyone else try to use this command?
Thanks

This doesn't have much to do with Tafferpatcher...but I believe the "synch_to_playcam" line has to be in your user.cfg file, not just entered into dromed's commmand line.
Anyway, there was a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=145564) recent thread in the Editor's Guild that mentioned this command.

Thanks Brethren. Unfortunately, when I put this command into my CFG file it still did not work.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks

Nevermind. I read the entire thread in Editor Guild and it is simple solution (I was the original post but I did not realize the solution was listed in that thread). Just use ALT R when exiting game mode. It works like a charm.
