For years I wanted to make silly montage videos using clips from games. A couple years ago, I worked on a project involving lots of Thief gameplay recording. While working on it, I started setting aside any funny moments or clips that I thought went well together. The result was this montage: "Taffin' Grubbers". I originally just shared it among family, but I've been going through video recording stuff again and decided to share it here.
I posted it here in the Fan Missions board, not ThiefGen, since it has so many FM clips in it.

Criticizing one's artistic endeavor always comes with the risk of also getting splashed with poop. That said...
Most of the clips didn't fit the "funny" or comedic genre. Too many cuts from different missions either didn't relate or were confusing at best. Some I just didn't understand (18-year Thief veteran).
Don't give up. Thick skin helps you keep going.

The bit where you were trying to jump onto that ledge at an angle the mantling system didn't like, and just kept dropping into the lava over and over again was so relatable it was actually painful.

You're fine. This was my first time doing a montage of game clips and it started from another project. And there's a reason I've sat on it for two years - I knew it was kind of "eh". So you're feedback is welcome.

Just on a techincal point, what recording/editing packages do you use? I've started dabbling in game recording myself, and I'm not getting the results I would like.

For this, nothing special: FRAPs and Windows Movie Maker. Now I use Xsplit Gamecaster for recording to avoid the large file sizes of raw recordings done with FRAPs.
