It binds:
Alt+Num Del to kill thief.exe
I hope you don't mind if I rant a little, but I don't think this is a good idea.
I was recently looking for a tool to add volume up/down buttons to my PC (I don't use a multimedia keyboard), and it's amazing how many of them had un-needed features, such as one that had some random shortcut instantly shut down Windows. Why would anyone want something like that? It's only ever going to be hit by mistake. It's like those cheap multimedia keyboards that move the normal keys and put a standby or shutdown button there instead. You reach for system properties shortcut and turn off your computer!
A hotkey to instantly kill Thief.exe? You can always just use ctrl+alt+delete and, even if the task manager is hidden, use Alt+E to end the task blind. If you're going to put something like that in, at least make it configurable (enable/disable and able to choose the hotkey in a configuration screen or file).
That's enough ranting for now. :)

Yikes! Agreed. Instantly shut down Windows? Sounds like someone's using that for playing games at work. Yeah, bad idea to have too many keys bound.

"Why is your computer off when you should be working?"
"Um... it... um... it crashed."

Yeah, and to top it off, there's already a way to "kill " thief .exe Just hit alt + shift + x, which i discovered in one of thief's files. :)

Heh heh. My supervisor spends most of his time running around campus, delivering supplies, doing snow removal, filling in for sick or vacationing employees, and mostly physical work, but he also has a computer for creating or filling out forms. Sometimes he just surfs the 'net, but he has to worry about the people who come in at random times, part-time employees, sick employees, delivery people, people looking for an employee, lost people, people with questions. His boss goes home shortly after my supervisor's shift starts--it's the night shift.:ebil:
Panic Button!!

Well, I disagree.
There's a good chance of someone who is new to Thief setting it up, and if they did not patch it with DDfix on a dual-core the game can crash/freeze, and the task manager does show up correctly/gets covered up by the crashed Thief.
And besides, how can
anyone accidently press alt+NUM DEL?

Presumably someone who plays with the numeric keypad for control, has the del key there assigned to something (I forget what it does by default but it is bound to something in the keypad control set), and is using alt for one of the modifiers (e.g. sneak or run).
I don't personally use those keys, but I could imagine quite a few people could.
The instances of having to quit Thief instantly because it crashes while setting up DDFix are maybe once when first starting the game, hardly worth of having the shortcut there all the time.
Also, you can always use the task manager blind (Ctrl+Alt+Delete, T, Alt+E, Y).
Bottom line: if you're going to put in a boss key, it does no harm to make it optional.
Actually, come to think of it, page up and page down aren't great keys either. At one point I used to play Thief with the arrow keys instead of WASD, and PgDn is one of the few keys nearby, so I always had that bound to lean right. I'm fairly sure that's a default control, too.
In any case, I haven't tried using the program so it doesn't bother me. I'm just pointing out the potential issues.

I appreciate the feedback, Nameless Voice
I wrote the program for my preference, but the source file is included for anyone to personalize it.
If anyone here is having trouble with the source file, or wants a personal version of TaffinMouse, feel free to PM me here or email me: kohan69@gmail.com, I'd gladly compile one for you.

Oooh, I might take a stab at this. :) Would really help - I was always annoyed by the lack of mousewheel scrolling in TDP.
Also... Hilarious title ! :cheeky: "TaffinMouse", LOLZ... :laff:
P.S. I personally prefer using "G" and "H" for scrolling through the inventory - in all three Thieves.
